Also, where my Zone Collection at?
Can't wait to play it.
I'll be putting the most time into the 360 version though.
Being able to play MGS 2, 3, and PW on a xbox will make the games feel brand new to me. Considering how much time I have put into all of them on their playstation consoles.
They confirmed that the MSX Metal gear 1 and 2 will be in the collection. So that covers the original side of things. Only MGS1 is missing. Though imo a rerelease for xbla how it is (since MGS is already on PSN) would be something cool to see. but the chances of that happening are pretty much none.
Didn't realize MG and MG2 were in there, can't wait!
But yeah pretty cool. Never owned a PS2 so I'll probably pick this up.
'playing for technical standpoint'
What?
They arent remakes. They are remastered, so now they are in HD and look great on any size tv.
Thats also why there are 5 games in the collection, rather than one remade game like with Twin Snakes on gamecube.
And does the PS3 version not include a code for MGS on the PSN? Might've been a fanboy wish I heard somewhere but I thought it was at least discussed officially.
....MGS1 and 2 were on the original xbox.
MG1 and 2 were on NES
MGS1 was also on GC.
Solid Snake was on Smash Bros.
Metal Gear Rising is on Xbox 360

NNNNGH, METAL GEEEER. Can't wait to play Peace Walker as intended, but I'm burn on tactical espionage after playing the Sly Collection & Deus Ex: HR.
little did i now that id be a proud ps3 owner weeks later
we know that peace walker will have co-op but are they gonna bring back the original metal gear online that was part of subsistence jim?
I'm sure if MGS1 was on the original Xbox, it wouldn't have got pwned by the PS2 the way it did in market share.
@fetusmilk
Yeah they cancelled it, since Microsoft now have a legitimate MGS title to convince their welfare install base that they don't need a PS3.

P.s
Metal Gear + Metal Gear 2 : Solid Snake = MSX
Metal Gear: Snakes Revenge = NES (It's not a real one)
Metal Gear Solid = PSX/PSN/PC
Metal Gear Solid: Special Missions = PSX (Also called VR Missions overseas)

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes = GameCube
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of liberty = PS2
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance = PS2/Xbox (Xbox was a bad port unfortunately)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater = PS2
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence = PS2
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the patriots = PS3
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops = PSP
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops+ = PSP
Metal Gear AC!D = PSP
Metal Gear AC!D2 = PSP
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker = PSP
Metal Gear HD Collection = PS3/XB360/PSvita
Just Saying
Yeah you sorta do.
If you have a PSX/PS3/PSP or PC you can track down MGS1 real easy and play it.
You can use the real disc's on an emulator also for pc.
It isn't 100% necessary. If you have a Wii find MGS: Twin Snakes because the original doesn't hold up very well, if not read up on the story on wikipedia.
I played MGS3 first and then went on to 1. It was quite hard to adapt but if you are committed enough you will get the full MGS experience. The Twin Snakes changes some story beats that pee off some fans but it ultimately stays faithful to the original mostly, it's your choice.
Without any knowledge of the first game, the plot of Metal Gear Solid 2 won't make any sense. Literally, you won't understand at least half of it. For MGS3, it's not quite as important (as it's a prequel), but you will still miss certain references, concepts, and jokes. Honestly, you would be missing the point of these games if you were to play them and ignore or not fully understand the story.
I hope there will be more info on the ZOE collection after this.
The delay helps me catch a break too, but this is just fucking ludicrous, a THREE MONTH delay in one region for the exact same software? What is there left to do? Remaster the multilingual subtitles in HD? =/
