I think it should be clarified that the games are the sub series. Not the originals. This is a big difference in MGS 3. I know Konami's not doing the clarifying, but I think it should be mentioned.

I'll be putting the most time into the 360 version though.
Being able to play MGS 2, 3, and PW on a xbox will make the games feel brand new to me. Considering how much time I have put into all of them on their playstation consoles.

They confirmed that the MSX Metal gear 1 and 2 will be in the collection. So that covers the original side of things. Only MGS1 is missing. Though imo a rerelease for xbla how it is (since MGS is already on PSN) would be something cool to see. but the chances of that happening are pretty much none.

Damn, I was looking forward to playing MGS3 again come Christmas, I guess for us Europeans the release date between Metal Gear 3D and the HD collection will be a relatively short one.

Should I be ashamed that one of my most anticipated games is an HD release? I just love MGS3 so damn much.
This is wonderful news. I'll be getting it on the PS3 where MGS started from and where it rightfully belongs. I'm sure xbox fans will get to enjoy it but MGS is just wrong being on it, IMO
Had the ps3 limited edition preordered as soon as they announced a collectors for it. I'm giddy as fuck.
Quick question: Having yet to play a HD remake, are they worth playing from a technical standpoint? I can understand the remakes gives those people who didn't play the originals a chance to try them out, and that's great, but are the games really HD "remakes"? Or are they essentially cheap upscales?

Thats also why there are 5 games in the collection, rather than one remade game like with Twin Snakes on gamecube.

I saw November 8th being bandied about by retailers for a while now. I had thought it was announced some time ago. Good to see it firmed up though in the face of Europe getting the ol' royal screw job.

Also, ROFLMAO at the PAL version getting delayed into 2012, in what kind of fucked up world does that make sense? I'll just convince everyone on our side of the Atlantic to import the US version and watch your insolent Euro release 6 months later rot on the shelves, Kojima. >=)
STRYKIE: Good luck. I'm actually glad the PAL version is delayed, there are too many games to play this winter anyway. MGS2 will have been out for a decade by the time the PAL version is released, not like anyone's in a hurry to get their hands on them.
I will be importing the USA version to Australia so I'll get it Nov 10........ no big deal. It's also cheaper from USA (Troll-face).

If you have a PSX/PS3/PSP or PC you can track down MGS1 real easy and play it.
You can use the real disc's on an emulator also for pc.

Despite the fact that Metal Gear Rising was announced for the Xbox, it just feels blasphemous to play the Solid games on anything but a Playstation for me.

I played MGS3 first and then went on to 1. It was quite hard to adapt but if you are committed enough you will get the full MGS experience. The Twin Snakes changes some story beats that pee off some fans but it ultimately stays faithful to the original mostly, it's your choice.

Come on Konami, you could have given fans some extra time to prepare. .-. November is bad enough with Zelda, Skyrim, Sonic and Uncharted. Do we really need MGS slapped inbetween? XD
