I never thought I'd be looking forward to HD collections of so many games that I played like fucking mad when they were release, but man I am looking forward to this.
A Metal Gear Solid game that isn't a "build a million weapons and go on a rampage" affair? Sign me up, even thought I've played them already. I'll happily be reminded why I just couldn't play through MGS4 more than the 1.5 times I did.

Brillaint, I've never gotten around to playing either of the first two MG games. Can't say I liked the changes made in Subsistence, prefer the original release of MGS3 myself, but whatever. HD and the original games has me sold.
Looks like I'll be double dipping on this, even though I still barely touched my old MGS collection. Whatever, I think I got it for like 20 bucks. I'll just wait to get this for the same.
@mix Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are the first two games in the series, that's what this post is referring to. They are not Metal Gear Solid or MGS2.
Ooooooo......Peace Walker in HD was enough to sell me. Hearing this I'm ready to go wait in line right now.

You know this is completely optional, right? You could play the entire game with nothing but a stun knife and a hush puppy if your heart desired it.
I'm actually a bit bummed to be getting Peace Walker, if only because I completed the game less than a year ago. Personally, I think the MGS1 voucher would be a nice alternative, but I can understand how a redone Peace Walker would be appealing to those who don't own PSPs.
Also, I really hope the MGS2 version will be Substance...never got to play that one : )

Hell yes! The camera in Subsistance was so much better than the original Snake Eater. Even though I own every game in this collection, I can't wait for this. I hope this makes Multiplayer in Peace Walker easier to accomplish.
They should rerelease the GC MGS remake sometime. Alternatively, I should go buy that for my Wii.

Also, why wouldn't they explicitly state that it's Subsistence instead of the original game on the packaging? Knowing that I'll be able play through MG and MG2 on a current console has definitely increased my interest in this collection, and it expands the entire package by two full games. Terrible marketing choice.
What about MG Online? Since that was apart of MGS3, will we be getting that too? If so, I'm buying this on 360!
If this includes an HD MGS2: Substance to go with MGS3: Subsistence, this will be the greatest collection ever.
Hope it includes the features from the second disc of Subsistence. And I wish the 360 version would come with a MGS1 code, or MGS1 will get an XBLA release but that'll never happen.

I was playing MGS3 recently and it's held up pretty well. I'm looking forward to seeing how it'll look at a decent framerate
I still don't understand why they don't have Metal Gear Solid in this collection? If they're not going to do an upscaled version of the PSX original (which would probably look fine as long as they re-render the cutscenes), why not Twin Snakes? That version might not be as good as the original, but at least it includes the voice actor changes they made in later games.
As I have never played any MGS except MGS4 (which I found phenomenal, by the way), I'm really looking forth to this.

@Epic-Kx: I think that you technically will if it's the Subsistence version, though I wouldn't be expecting them to turn the servers back on for that version of MGO anytime soon.

I actually have a Substance version of MGS3 but never got round to playing the first 2 games as my PS2 died a horrible death.

You could wait to see what their adding. I'm sure there will be some fun extras and it will still be the only portable version.

I want to get the trophies so I end up doing it again.. I'm interested to see what exactly the transferring(from the psp) gets you.

Did they actually come out and say this will include MG and MG2? Because the PS2 collection had Subsistence and didn't include these, because there was originally a second disc for the first released version of Subsistence that included the two games and MGO.
I very much doubt the HD collection will feature either. I will be very surprised if they include anything more than what was on the first disc with the HD collection.

First, there were WAY too many people outside of Konami involved in that title that would have to be paid (cut-scenes directed by (film maker) Ryuhei Kitamura, Silicon Knights as developer, music by Silicon Knights, Nintendo exclusivity contract, Shigeru Miyamaoto as a creative director, etc.) which would cost the company FAR more than it would be worth. Second, since the title was developed as an exclusive for a Nintendo system, it contains numerous references to IPs of that company. Third, the original was better in nearly every capacity (save graphics).

My guess is that's a PS only thing right? because MGS hitting XBLA would be amazing I've beaten that game 30+ times and it still never gets old for ms

Excellent news. I own MGS2S but could never find MGS3S so this is fantastic. I still hope the HD version of MGS2 is MGS2S though.

Were there people who assumed it wouldn't include Subsistence? I think that'd be pretty stupid of Kojima to not do, considering it had more content and better controls.
Actually Subsistence is a lot more than just the regular game. It fixes the god awful camera that Snake Eater has.
I'm really shocked that Konami was actually letting people think that it was just going to be Snake Eater. That didn't make sense as Subsistence was above and beyond the better game.

Yeah, this is certainly a real question. I have the PS2 collection, and it sorta comes with Subsistence-light. Main disc, yes, extra disc, no.

I am going to guess that the "Subsistence" inclusion means JUST the main game changes such as the 3D camera and things. I am going to guess that all the disc 2 stuff (MG1 and 2, MGO, etc.) are all not part of the package. I wouldn't get my hopes up for that other content.
