Considering they have finally started to do the integral podcasts for MGS4, trophy support could happen, but I highly doubt it.

Trophy support is nice and all, but it isn't the end-all-be-all that some gamers want to treat it as.
There are players all over Live and PSN that have stated that they won't buy games that are otherwise great because they don't have trophies/achievements. I've seen players on the GameFAQs Valkyria Chronicles board that have gone "Oh, never mind then," when informed that the game does not in fact have trophies. How utterly moronic is that?
On the other end of the spectrum, there are players that will buy crappy games BECAUSE there are trophies/achievements.
It's a good thing that this is going to be mandatory from now on, but isn't the reward of playing a great game enough?

I hate trophies. They turn gamers into crack whores. Having said that, if they release trophies for MGS4 I'd replay it sooner rather than later.

Honestly, I'd much more enjoy it if they implemented the custom soundtracks feature either through the XMB or in the iPod like they originally were going to.
Konami seems to be making slow progress in perfecting their game(most likely to keep it running longer, those sly marketing bastards). Not only did they start the integral podcasts like ParaParaKing mentioned, but they've also announced that they have started taking action against glitchers/cheaters in MGO.

Trophies are neat. They enhance some things, letting you know of basic accomplishments (like doing 100 Ultra Combos in SF4) and giving you something to strive for in terms of replay. If you want to.

I like my trophies...but fuck adding that shit in to MGS4. I've already beat that shit 5 times, and got the Big Boss emblem. It was a pain in the ass, and I don't want to have to do it again. Late trophy support fucks over the gamers that played the hell out of the game at launch. Same thing happened with GTAIV. Seriously. I love trophies, and sometimes I'm pretty whorish about it -- but I'd rather have no trophies than late trophies.
Meh, not that necessary, but if they did add them I'd be more likely to play through it again for the 4th time I think it would be. For me its definatly a game I could take out and play again at anytime and still be entertained.
A game as good as MGS4 doesn't need trophies. It's just not that important to me. give me amazing gameplay and good graphics and that's all I need.
I'm already on the third time playing mgs4 I'm thinking I got maybe 1 or 2 more play throughs out of it before I just wont pick it up for a couple years then I will beat it again before MGS5. But going back to trophies I don't particularly care if they get implemented, they should have been in when the game shipped but hey if this happens it wouldn't be a bad thing.
I gave up on MGS4 trophies and custom iPod songs, but I still play the game. This would be a cool addition still.
This just fucking confuses me. The creators of Uncharted whined "we shouldn't have included trophies: it ruined part of the experience". Now Konami says "that's retarded" and is working hard to get trophies in MGS4?

Magnalon: If the Uncharted creators actually said that, they are stupid, because they already had something like achievements implemented into the game from the start.
Personally, I'm sick of games that don't let me bring saves to friends' houses because there's Trophy info attached to it. I'd be fine with Trophies, but not if it'll gimp the saves.
I can see both the good and bad of trophies and achievements, but i personally love the feature.
if anything, i see it enhancing the game. I'm the kind of person who will play a game from beginning to end, then put it down. Trophies to me give me that little push to play beyond the storyline of the game, and i can play the game to its fullest.

I like trophies, but then again, I've never owned a 360, so I never got into achievement-whoring.
