Merry Christmas from Sony! Metal Gear Solid LittleBigPlanet packs hit on 12/23 photo

If you've been collecting LittleBigPlanet costumes since the game's release, you ought to have a nice closetful by now, but let's not kid ourselves: we've all been waiting for those Sephiroth and Snake costumes. it's hard not to be a little in love with a surly, sackboy version of Snake, you know?

Stuff this in your stocking: as of December 23rd, you can have them! The Metal Gear Solid Premium Costume pack comes with Solid Snake, Meryl Silverburgh, Screaming Mantis & Raidenfor $5.99 (or you can just buy any individual one you want for $1.99).

Of course, the level pack has goodies to offer too, one of them being the Gurlokovich Soldier costume you see above. There's more, though: 72 stickers, 10 decorations, 12 materials and 18 objects, and a virtual sh*tload of new music tracks and items that will allow you to build the Metal Gear-themed levels of your dreams.

Check out more pics over at PlayStation Blog. I can't wait to fire these up and run around making a complete fool of myself!

Augh! I wish I had money to spend on these awesome costumes.

Props to Sony though, for actually delivering consistent, quality DLC, and not cheap, forgetabble stabs for money.

(Do want MGS, Street Fighter, and that badass Shark costume D:)

Correction the Paintball guns are actually called Paintinator and there will be new switches that will react to them as well as being able to splatter fellow sacks with paint.

I just loaded up LittleBigPlanet today and noticed the new trophy patch for the Metal Gear levels; I think these are going to be the first update's for the game i'll actually be willing to pay for!

The prices for LBP costumes over here in the UK though are horrendous. It cost just under £5 for the set of four Street Fighter costumes - in relation, if I bought that and the LocoRoco pack that came out the other week, it'd have cost me the same amount as Megaman 9. The costumes are a bit stingy with the money, but I think I'm just too much in love with that Screaming Mantis get up to resit this time...

I watched the video. Guns in LBP! Hell yeah! And new levels! Yeah. This isn't just new creation tools, folks, it says in the blog that there are new story levels that use the new stuff as well. Man, I just can't wait for this! I hope there are more of these to come. Being able to actually shoot enemies is going to add a whole new way to play and create.

Yeah, this whole thing looked like a sham and a waste of money until I saw that paint gun, which could open up a whole new dynamic in this game and is probably worth the six bucks by itself.

I'm digging the MGS LBP content more than MGS itself..I know, I know blasphemy. But hey we are all entitled to our own opinion.

I hope the pantinator paintball gun is the beginning of a trend for Media Molecule to expand on the established LBP game play> There's so may ways to take it.

IGN did a preview on the MGS content pack and it sounds fun. 4 levels, paint-ball gun that opens up new game-play potential, objects and stickers for $6 isn't really too bad. And this is coming from someone who rarely buys DLC. Although the Fallout 3 DLC is looking interesting too.
