Tribute Games has finalized the release date for Mercenary Kings' console debut and it's not far off: it hits PlayStation 4 on April 1, 2014 for $14.99. The final Steam launch happens a bit sooner, on March 25, and owners of the Steam Early Access version will of course get a free upgrade.

If you're tired of the usual April Fools' Day gags, you'll at least have something to fall back on this year. Running-and-gunning with weapon crafting is an intoxicating mix indeed.

I've played (and enjoyed) an early version of Mercenary Kings on PC, but ultimately found it to be lacking in content. Still, I'm sure the game has come a long way since then. I'd hope so, anyway. It'll be interesting to see how the finished product ends up.

MERCENARY KINGS LAUNCHES APRIL 1ST ON PLAYSTATION 4 AND MARCH 25TH ON STEAM - PC/MAC!!! [Tribute Games]
