Mercenaries 2 catches the Duke Nukem Forever virus, gets delayed even further photo

If you're as anxious to play Mercenaries 2: World In Flames as I am, this news is going to sting badly: the game has been officially delayed again. Shacknews has gotten word straight from EA that we won't be able to get our hands on Mercenaries 2 until somewhere in the April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009 time frame.

What if Mercenaries 2 isn't released until 2009? Unlikely as it may be, think back to when we thought the game would be out in time for the 07 Holiday season. If some unfortunate event causes such a long delay to occur, Pandemic, your game better have a Miyamoto-esque level of polish to it, or else!

If Duke Nukem actually comes out, I pray to god that it bombs so bad. Nobody should have to subject themselves to such shit.

Am I the only one who found the first Mercenaries boring? After playing the first and becoming bored with it I don't think I'm going to find the second much better.

Well, we're going to need someone to take the reins when Duke Nukem Forever retires from development hell.

That XBL trailer looked like utter shit. They'd better do something to remedy the situation.

Damn - that's too bad! I spent a good chuck of time with this at this last E3 and it was pretty awesome at that point in time. I can only imagine how cool it'll (hopefully) be when its really done.

Nope, just going on what I've seen so far.

I think, from now on, we should just automatically add one or two years to any ETA for any game. On-time releasing seems to now be the exception, rather then the rule.

Well, at least this frees up more time this spring to spend with Star Wars:Force Unleashed and GTA4.

Id blame EA for BF:BC and Mercenaries being delayed but since they own most the game companies out there i guess it aint their fault the developers are slow ass idiots.

More and more games get delayed now days, i remember when PS2 games used to come out early :O

@scientist tz,
I'm still not convinced that Star Wars Force Unleashed is going to actually come out before the holidays.
