Lol yeah. Gametrailers complained that there was still no voice acting in Zelda, and that the graphics were horrible because it was on the Wii. What a bunch of noob reviewers...
I disagree. The integrity is still there if you look for it. There's always going to be good and bad journalists. I think that the biggest problem, are the asshat readers and fanboys whose demands of a video review are so far skewed that any independent (or god forbid divergent) thought is brutally scorned. We've gotten so partial to immediately loving or hating a game that we can't read a review with a critical or impartial eye, even if it is we'll reasoned.
All in all, we love jumping on bandwagons too much (who doesen't), and we only look at reviews as, "Is writer X on our bandwagon or not? If not, let us shout at him for being different".
Video was brilliant. Mega64 are consistently awesome.
You can tell what out-of-10 a game will get before it's even released and anyone has even played it.

Aye aye, there is still some journalism integrity around, but it is getting slimmer by the day, I mean nobody is doing anything about the metacritic(it's such an outdated model) and it seems to get more influencial with every big AAA titled being released.
Heck, that guy from Giantsbomb who used to work at Gamespot got fired for giving kane & lynch a low score, so he started his own company.

Also, this movie needs some nudity...so Tara...I'm sorry to ask this of you, but you'll need to lend Max and Holmes some sexy clothes to make their nude scene that much more appealing when it takes place. You might want to burn those clothes later though.

Still, we have too many bloggers fighting with children over scores. A lot of those who get upset are adolescent kids with no perspective. Fighting with them is an exercise in futility. Some bloggers seem to revel in it, though, and try to keep the battle raging. Disagreements over videogame review scores is hardly what I would call controversial, but there are those who seem to WANT a "shitstorm" so they can write multiple articles and film multiple video rants. You're not a martyr just because people yell at you on the internet.
As far as the the Metascore, though, that needs to go away. Take away the score and just list the reviews. You'd still get hate for the extremes, but there would be a lot less direct competition between fanboy tribes.
But other than that, who cares? If I disagree with a reviewer's methodology, then I'll criticize them for that, but if I disagree with their opinion then I'll just shrug and move on. The people who get all puffed up about Metascores, however, should just be ignored. No one should fight with jimmyx through hundreds of comments. People who get upset about kids yelling over videogame scores are almost as bad as the people they're getting upset about.
