Mega Man needs your help! photo

Robots are always competing against each other. It's just in the very fabric of their being. In order to aid them in this the Robot Hall of Fame inducts real and fictional robots into their ranks every year and does it through a knock down drag out election. The nominees for induction in 2011 (the 2010 ones have already been announced) are some pretty big hitters including Optimus Prime, Bender and the Blue Bomber himself. Right now Mega Man is behind Bender by a good amount so it is our duty as gamers to get him into first and keep him there throughout the year.

Capcom is asking the gaming world to do its part in getting the greatest gaming robot ever into the lead. To tell the truth though, as far as fictional robots go I would have to give it to Optimus Prime before Mega Man. Now don't shoot me, its just a matter of opinion, but Mega Man only taught me how to jump on vanishing blocks while Optimus Prime taught me how to live life with weekly PSAs. Also, we encourage everyone to toss in a nomination for Mr. Destructiod as he is truly the greatest robot of them all.

Uh, I hate to say it, but I gotta go with Bender here. As much as I love Mega Man (and Prime), do either of them run on booze? I rest my case.

Yeah, I've got to go with Deathofthedead here... Megaman is pretty awesome, but he's also responsible for Megaman Soccer on the NES.

Bender all the way!

I'm an informant! Woot!

Scoff as one may at the big gap between Mega Man and Bender, but get this: when I wrote my blog on Friday night, Mega Man had 10% of the vote and was losing to some historically relevant printer bot. Now, he's second spot, 18% and Bender's down 3%

Dare to Dream, Blue Bomber.

(also, Optimus deserves a spot in there too, of course. I'm hoping they take the two two or three in fictional robots. But Our Man, Mega has some serious momentum)

Mega Man Soccer on the SNES was gaming's Citizen Kane.

Also, Bender promotes suicide to children.

People are still into Bender? I didn't even think he was that cool when the show was still relevant.

Its a tie between Mega Man and Bender for me. After 10 seconds of serious thought, I'm going with the blue bomber, he's my favorite game character of all time so sorry Bender

I'm with Optimus or Bender any day. Mega Man is by far one of my most beloved gaming figures, but he would get his ass transformed and rolled-over by Optimus, and his blue underwear stolen by Bender.

Everybody do the Bender!

I saw that Astro Boy is already in there, so we're 1 for 2.

Optimus Prime taught you life lessons with PSA's, but Megaman taught me how to live by teaching me the meaning of having true power and being a hero.

Bless that little robot. I have respect for the ones that show me what it is to be a human.

Sorry Megaman, but Bender punted his first born child through a window into a burning pit of hell in exchange for a massive robot army to destroy all humans, just to prove a point. You just haven't done something that crazy for my vote.

Bender, Optimus Prime, or Mega Man? What fevered poll is this that dares to split my fanaticism in twain?

For me, it's a no-brainer. Megaman has been with me since my early childhood, before I even played video games. Optimus is cool and all, but there's no replacing the Blue Bomber for me. And I couldn't care less for bender, so much that I won't even bother to capitalize his name.

Did you see any of the Futurama movies? Bender comes out with some priceless stuff!
FistfulOAwesome's Avatar

As gamers we have an obligation to vote for Mega Man but honestly any one of these characters is deserving to be in the hall of fame. They'll all eventually make it so there is no worry if Mega Man makes it this year (looks like Bender wins this time) since he will eventually.

Personally speaking I'm a huge fan of all these characters (see previous post) so I'm split on who to vote for.

P.S. Don't watch any of the Futurama movies except Into The Wild Green Yonder. Except for that one they are all huge disappointments that mostly forgo the witty humor, deep plots, and fantastic characterization from the series in favor of dumb "humor", two-dimesional versions of the characters (www.instantrimshot.com), and lazy barely-coherent plotlines.
