A few weeks ago, Mega Man Legends 3 Director Masakazu Eguchi revealed that Capcom has not yet fully committed to production of the game. On February 22nd, the team was scheduled for a meeting to determine the fate of this project. In a conversation with Siliconera, Community Manager Seth Killian has offered some updated information:
They were saying like ‘well, we got an extension, so we’re going to keep working on the game.’ Does this mean it’s actually going to be made? Not 100% and that’s true.
Crazy to think that something which received such a massive response upon its announcement is still in doubt, but games disappear into development hell all the time. I can't remember an announced Mega Man game that didn't come to market, despite some fervent wishes to the contrary. I actually want this game, which is more than I can say for the majority of titles brought to the franchise in the last ten years. Commit, Capcom!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
WTF i thought that it was already
No.. You really could not.
..........Capcom isn't a Japanese activision. Sqeenix is.

*punches wall*STFU AND GET TO WORK, MONKEYS.
I wonder if Keiji's exit has affected MM's currency in Capcom...
Speaking of: IS DALE NORTH OK?! D:
Jesus, are you people really surprised this game is still in development? THEY FUCKING ANNOUNCED IT LAST YEAR.
And Mega Man isn't dead unless 11 is another crappy NES game pretending to be next-gen.
That said, I hope it hits other platforms. I really don't want to miss out on this game but it's still not enough to get me to throw down $250 for a 3DS.
This one game is the reason I reserved a 3DS. If it doesn't get made, even after the HUGELY positive response from gamers, I may not even get the 3DS now. Listen to your customers, Capcom...
I really want this game. MM Legends was awesome. I never got to play MML2, but I'm looking for a copy to play it and get up to speed before the new one. It's on my personal list of last generation games I want to get the next generation treatment.
Now if only I can get a new Jet Set Radio and Skies of Arcadia game, the list will be complete...

lol square actually produces good-great games like Dissidia, Birth By Sleep, The 3rd Birthday and Enhanced games like Tactics Ogre let us cling together, Final Fantasy IV Complete collection and publishes games like Deus Ex HR(square's own Visual Art studio actually did the CGI work) new Tomb Raider and the rest of Eidos games. add PSN classic rerelease games like Xenogears, Vagrant Story and the upcoming Parasite Eve Archives and hopefully both Chrono titles.
while activision keeps producing shit after shit. at least square does something great. even FFXIII has mixed receptions i can say people still enjoyed the game despite it's shortcomings.
add future titles like Versus XIII, Kingdom Hearts 3 i could go on and on. square isn't that bad as people think.
Ono, get out here and settle this once and for all! Chase Seth with a bat with nails in it if you have to, make this happen.
