Wow. That was a bit a of surprise. Man finally gets the greenlight on MML3 and then leaves. Then again, its a familar story. Take a talented guy, give him too much responsibility and his creative side falls into neglect.

Also, what's with all this black text on black backgrounds? I can't read anything here now without highlighting it.

(Q_Q) Just when we're finally getting Megaman Legends 3, he bloody well leaves? Say it with me, kids: God does not exist.

More seriously, I'm sort of interested but sort of stupefied by this. This man has had a VERY public role in Capcom, especially since Inaba, Mikami, and Kamiya left. I'm left wondering why Capcom can't seem to retain the creative talent which has made it the company it is today.

Seriously, look at the major talent from the company. Pretty much all of it is gone, now.

I want to say I'm angry. I'm not.

Good luck to him with whatever he does next. Not that he needs it.

I'm still buying MML3.

Personally, I hope he can find Jean Benet's killer and I wish hime the best of luck in his quest for justice.

I'm actually kinda excited by this. I'm looking forward to hearing about what he'll do next.

Haha, Capcom; I only really care about Ace Attorney + Shu Takumi anyway. It's so interesting to see these companies: Capcom, Sega, Square-Enix fall apart and atrophy under the dead weight of their own traditional tendencies. Bah, but it's not just Japan...everyone is repeating themselves too much. In the end, my wallet is happy because I can buy the selected games I have interest in at higher prices/sooner.

I knew this since he said he hated his job at Capcom. He also said he loved how Nintendo worked, so maybe he'll apply for a job there?

Dammit, first Clover goes, now this. Then again, Clover never stopped being awesome after they left, either.

I hope this doesn't mean we're getting screwed out of Mega Man Universe and Legends 3. Though I think the series will carry on OK without him. I think he gave everybody there a damn good idea of what a good game should do.

Yep, Capcom is officially dead. With folks like Shinji Mikami, Atsushi Inaba, a laundry list of others, and now Keiji Inafune, Capcom has lost most of it's most prominent talent. Good for Keiji though, he deserves to forge his own path and make the games he wants to. I imagine as the creator of Mega Man he's been put into a box. I hope the best for him in whatever he does.

This could turn out to be a very good thing. If he starts his own studio, he'd be free to make whatever the hell he wanted without Capcom higher-ups having to give him any sort of green light. It's also not out of the question that he could still make games for Capcom, but I don't know how that would turn out.

Well, it's not like he had much direct input over Capcom projects for a good long while. He wasn't happy with the company's current software and was never a good fit in his managerial role. Nonetheless, this is the end of an era. It's like finding out that Santa Claus retired.

Best of luck Mr. Inafune.

The video games business is hard, but you seem to have enough recognition to keep on trucking!

It's understandable, unlike Miyamoto, he doesn't have much freedom over the stuff he makes, he's really been someone that Capcom sees as a money machine. I'm hoping the best for him, maybe someone else will see his talents and pick him up.

Wow.. less than a month after I met him too. I feel like a lucky man. I will surely follow whatever he decides to do in the future. I genuinely think the man is a genius.

So he's upset that he can't climb the corporate ladder? He's going to be real upset when he gets a new job and he's doing grunt work. Then again, maybe he'll be happy if he feels like he's working harder.

even though i don’t like they guy’s attitude towards the industry, i still respect him since he produced one of the finest games in the industry, Onimusha and Megaman (he also designed the X chracter which is the best megaman IMO)

sad tooo see he's out, hopefully he joins another studio or make new one altogether. sad we won’t be seeing Onimusha now.

to all the idiots here who say's capcom is dead please think clearlly for once. they still have some talented developers left, Ryota Niitsuma(Tatsunoko vs Capcom,Marvel vs Capcom 3), Ryozo Tsujimoto(Monster Hunter),Shu Takumi(Ace Attorney Series),Yoshinori Ono(Street Fighter IV,

same as Sega, the still create new and awesome IP's like End of Eternity, Yakuza Series, Valkyria Chronicles and some sequels on one of their best frachises ever, Phantasy Star Online 2.

i don't know why people think just because a top producer just left a company, the compnay is already considerd dead. not 1 individual is equal to the whole company. so if Gabe Newell lefts Valve does that mean Valve sucks now? fucking idiots these days. don't ignore other developers that also contributed in this compnay.

This makes me very, very sad. He's a major part of the reason I love Capcom so much, so I hope they can keep being awesome, and Inafune can find somewhere he can keep making awesome games.

Huge Mega Man fan, but I can't really feel bad about it. He doesn't enjoy what Capcom does anymore, it's better this way. Hopefully Capcom will continue being the Capcom we know and love. Oh, and he DIDN'T create Mega Man.

I'm not sure I can think of anything to say beyond my initial gasp. I had to read it twice to be sure.

Wow... and here I was hoping to hear about a Dead Rising 3 in a year or so. Well I wish him all the luck in the world, thanks for all the work you have done.

I hope he creates his own powerhouse.

If not, working at Platinum Games would be swell.
