When you watch this brand new trailer for Mega Man 10, which is coming soon to all downloadable platforms, watch out for the pixely silhouettes that come flying at you in between stage changes. Not only do you get to see the varied stages of the next retro-ized game in the Mega Man series, but you also get a hint at what the robot masters are going to be.
Aside from the backdrops (ooh, a stadium stage), there are a few other things to point out. Knife heads? Lightbulb faces? The biggest thing comes in at the end of the trailer. It's an Easy Mode. Thank Dr. Light! Make fun all you want, but I need that sh*t.
What do you think so far? Do you think that Mega Man 10 is looking a bit better than 9? I know someone who doesn't.

First thought: I can't wait to get the soundtrack.
Second thought: I didn't really need to watch this video to convince me to buy it; I effin' love Mega Man.
The fact that there is an easy mode means I can never play easy mode.
It's the same with any game that is hard (DMC, Ninja Gaiden, Contra), I can't bring myself to play easy.
I don't think that Mega Man IV 2.0 looks promising. Seriously, the levels (and likely Robot Masters) seem completely uninspired. I'm tired of exploring Desert (Pharaoh Man), Ice (Ice Man, Blizzard Man, Frost Man), Fire (Fire Man, Heat Man, Shadow Man, Flame Man, Sword Man, Magma Man), Electric (Elec Man, Spark Man, Bright Man, Cloud Man, Plug Man), and Sewer-based (Toad Man) stages. Can't they make something new? The color scheme itself looks like someone somehow made a NES puke (good call Brad Nicholson), and the music is completely flat (doesn't even come close to comparing to Tornado Man's Theme).
You know, when a bunch of people complained about Mega Man 9 being in 8-bit as nothing more than a marketing ploy to take our money, the proper response was (and apparently still is) to call those people morons. After seeing the 10 trailer, I may owe those people a partial apology. They still aren't right about the graphics or the old series being obsolete (most of these people seem to also want a return to the X series), but if Mega Man 10 is as underwhelming as its trailer suggests, they were right that Capcom is exploiting nostalgia in order to sell their crappy level designs to us on the the basis of being Mega Man. This looks like a disappointment. I hope it stays looking like a disappointment rather than actually being one, but my hopes are low.
Yeah the new robot masters and even stages will be largely derivative from that of past megaman games, but that's no different from any megaman game on the NES after Megaman 1; it looks to be congruent with the megaman games of yore, for fans that want to play a legitimate Megaman game, this is a good thing. The main criticism i had with megaman 9 was that added nothing new (the show was moronic...so I'm not counting that) and they took away all the post-megaman 4 features that have been since well established in the megaman universe (charge and slide namely) to give the game an exaggerated (and ultimately artificial feeling) old-school feel. Megaman 10 gives players the option to play as Protoman from the get go...that's at least an attempt to mix stuff up...now lets just get the slide and mbuster charge and it'll be hard for this thing to disappoint.
Brad Nicholson has no credibility since he's a games journalist who has never played Portal. Also he coined the term "floppy bodies".
ha just like nintendo to keep the 3rd playable character from us because rumors are there are 3 playable characters mgeaman protoman and a secret one my guess is bass
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I'm totally ready for this, can't wait!

In the meantime, the righteous shall rejoice.
Looks awesome, but the trailer for MM9 had better music and montage, imho :D

Looks sweet!
I hope there is a Horse Man, a man with a Horse for a head. I know there already is Sheep Man, but I want to see a Horse Man.
"Our own Brad Nicholson asks"
*sigh*
That's the truest statement I've heard thus far.
