Admittedly, I've spent way too much time browsing The Brothers Brick this morning. Amidst gawking at mechs and other things I've never been creative enough to erect (insert penis jokes here) I've rounded up a megaton of fresh new LEGO sculptures based on video games. Among them you'll find Metroid (pictured above) the usual Mario sprites, an upright 3D Sonic, various chocobos (including a barbecued one!), the ship from Fantasy Zone, an impressive chain-comp montage, and last but not least a life-sized replica of a PlayStation 2. People with this much talent depress me. Don't miss the Bowser one!

That Bowser is pretty cool too.
Wish I had an artistic bone in my body. Oh well, thanks Niero for making my Friday a bit more bearable.

My lego collection was a junkyard desert planet. Hence it provided a lot of milage out of incomplete lego kits (since my sister could digest kit-specific lego bricks at will.) I had half assed "robots" that use their sloppy interconnecting, tween lego parts as physical movement joints.
It was kinda like Mad Max, but then I also had my Transformers and He-Man guys fighting alongside them, so it was waaay better. Imagine how awesome it was to have Skeletor, Galvatron, Shockwave, and Mossman doing battle with Snap Action He-Man, Orko, Bumble-bee, Dinobots, and some lego people. Yeah, it rocked.
And right at the end? that's when the Millenium Falcon showed up.

I'd tell you the details of the battle but I'm under NDA over my new Time Life series about the 1980's Lego Junkyard Desert Planet Wars of Plano, TX.
Ken Burns is signed to direct, and we found a whole hospital full of Alzheimer's patients who are willing enough to babble on about life on the battlefield. We even have an interview with Brian Peppers' efforts to support the war.
And yeah, remembering it now, all my bad guys were from the Blacktron collection. The good guys were either city people or space police.

Just the other day my mom had dug out some old pictures of me from when I was a kid; in one of them from about 20 years ago I'm holding a two-legged mech made out of legos. Thinking about it some more, where the hell would I have seen a standing mech back then? This was no later than 87, the only anime I'd seen by that point was Voltron & Battle of the Planets, and this was a very Battletech style design. It is a mystery!

I had honestly never seen the Bowser one, or various other video game related Lego creations.

Hmm, I like how much you made it look like the original but I think that some changes need to be made to some models. Your yellow, red, and tan Mario needs to be fixed big time. If you plan on making a SMB/SMB2J/VSMB/ANNSMB Mario, then by all means make all of the bricks that are yellow become brown bricks and put either yellow or orange bricks where the tan ones are, okay? Your diorama rocks and even though you have a SMB3 Mario there, you should put the SMB Mario there if it is in a SMB underground/mine level. Also, you should add some more of those underground tile bricks and add some lighter blue and some black to them, too. Oddly enough, I have thought of working with Nintendo and LEGO and making some video game themed stuff from LEGO. If you want someone to talk to about it really good, try that Eric Harshbarger guy. His website is http://www.ericharshbarger.org/ . He should be able to give you plenty of advice for your future projects on his website.
I also like the Metroid diorama. The Metroid is spot on in LEGO form. However, Samus Aran has more yellow on her suit as opposed to red like you made her out to be in your diorama. Still, you do have the right color scheme for the helmet and the blaster is cool. I could overlook the incorrect colors for the blaster part on the arm seeing as that it might become nearly impossible to find those particular parts in a yellow color, but otherwise, it is well done.
