Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking "ZOMG THIS IS A BLATANT RIP-OFF OF TEAM FORTRESS 2! PLAGIARISM!" I don't blame you, either. The over-the-top multiplayer combat, the class system, the art style, and even the sense of humor all seem taken right from Valve's popular shooter. I can't even justify it. The "inspiration" is clear as day.
You know what though? It doesn't matter. The game looks like mad fun and seems like it'll be a perfect addition to Xbox Live's "Summer of Arcade" season. In this industry, it's fun that matters, and Monday Night Combat looks like a boatload of fun. End of debate.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I could think of one demographic. An Xbox 360 owner who has no gaming PC. Team Fortress 2 was poorly supported on the 360 port. MNC may be different and do what TF2 couldn't.
"MNC may be do what TF2 couldn't."
Yeah. Like SUCK HARD. Bah dum tsh
i'm so awesome and funneh :\
What, be more relevant on the 360? LOL
Blame ms for that one sir.
I'm not quite sure what else Valve does to make the classes in TF2 so memorable, though. Maybe it's because they all have different accents, and they all look so radically different. But really, if you're excited about this game and haven't played TF2, go buy it. Now. It's got a black, one-eyed, Scottish explosives expert as a class.
As true as that statement is, I'd still rather play TF2. That's just my opinion though. I'm sure this game will be fun in it's own way.
Wait that's exactly what it is.
I don't know how balanced a sniper can be with close combat skills.
How this game plays out will be interesting, if they intend on giving it events as with 1vs100 then it will likely fail and be dead within a year (like 1vs100) unless the devs really did a good job with the gameplay.
Valve can hardly be expected to keep TF2 up to date on three platforms with their appauling time-keeping now can they? The news about Portal 2 on PS3 hints that they may be gearing up to better support consoles, at least on PS3.
Basically, Microsoft suck.
I'm sorry, I really can't give this one any credit. If the game is fun, that's fine. But I'd have to play it on mute.
I can kind of see the similarities to TF2 but hey, I'd give it a shot. If I had a 360 that is.
But really, I'll give the demo a shot, if just because the earlier trailers made it look interesting. But one thing I liked about TF2 was that all the characters were twisted murderers, but they were different kinds of twisted murderers. The Sniper is quiet (until he starts dominating you), the Demoman is loud and rude, the Pyro is well, a Pyromaniac. Meanwhile, these characters, well, they all come off as loud obnoxious boasters, and guess what? The Scout's personality is my least favorite in TF2.
On the other hand, I'm with the sheep in calling the lines the corniest shit with the lamest voice actors since... Heavy Rain? No? Perhaps Arc Rise Fantasia is a better comparison.
ie. Hit game has sequel, sequel changes everything. Tons of people upset about changes. Game comes out, and gets high review scores, tons o' people buy it. Bad press helped, because it got people talking, even though the game was good all along and the fans were short sighted to believe otherwise.
This title hasn't nearly any buzz to speak of, so it sucks that they didn't put their best foot forward on this video. Gonna suck if I plunk down the Allards on this XBL title and find there is no playerbase within 40,000 kilometres.
