Is there a nude patch for this video?
Depends on your perspective.
The way i look at it as is how my penis would look at it, and my penis disagrees with you.
2) Still don't give a fuck about this game. CD's intentions are good, but the way they've created and marketed this game is still disgusting and tasteless, regardless of how much they try and double back on. No cheesy pre-release "documentary" is going to change that for myself or the thousands of other people who have been so thoroughly turned off by this reboot.
If this game turns out to be amazing (which it probably will) im going to laugh at you and the "thousands" of other people for hating this for stupid fucking reasons.
I just dont understand. Its a fucking game nothing more and nothing less. Whats so bad about it again? Like fuck id understand if someone strapped you to a chair and raped and murdered your kids and wife while you watched but it isnt so stfu.
I mean, listen to you all! Everyone was so pumped for it before the rape controversy, now everyone can't talk enough shit about it.
I wouldn't be surprised if they downplay the misery and helplessness of Lara in the advertising from now leading up to launch.
Lol right. Doing press interviews and using the potential rape of your female protagonist as a marketing technique is a "stupid fucking reason". As was keeping the scenes of rape in your gameplay demos, then turning around and saying that rape "isn't in your vocabulary". Then justifying it all by saying the typically male audience for AAA action games needs to feel like they need to protect Lara like a "strong boyfriend would" because she's weak and helpless.
It's not the fucking 1980's anymore, kid. Games have moved beyond Tiger Electronics handheld games. This is an art form whether you have the mental capacity to comprehend that or not. This isn't the type of shit I'm blindly will to support "just because it's a game". Are your standards for art and entertainment really that low?
I didn't say I was going to start an online petition to have the game banned. I didn't say I was going to Crystal Dynamics dev studios and burning the fucking building down. I said I don't want shit to do with this disaster of a product they've trying to push into the market place. That's it. Why is that so difficult for you people to understand.
Will the core gameplay mechanics be "fun". I'm sure they will be if the past three games CD has done are any indication. Will the game sell well? Press is press at the end of the day, as tasteless and manipulative as it can be, so I'm sure it'll have the attention it needs to be financially successful. Does that mean it's going to be a quality product that we'll look back on in 10 years and appreciate for it *as a whole*? Well apparently you can read the fucking future, so I guess you already know.
And yea. Thousands of people. Or have you been living under a fucking rock during the shitstorm that's been kicked up over this game by the press and the consumers?
Look at his avatar, and the one before that... Disgraceful isn't in his vocabulary. He doesn't get it. He treats objects like women, man.
While that possibility definitely occurred to me, I make it a point not to flat out ad hominem people I argue/debate with. Even if they are incredibly ignorant. *Shrug*
Eh, when it comes to pictures of children in sexual poses...let's just say i throw the rules of civilized discussion out the window.
@ctg867
The shitstorm kicked up about this game is 60% manufactured and 30% SE being inept at PR and 10% CD being backed into a corner.
Perhaps the fact that you are so up in arms about it is evidence that gaming actually is truly an art, after all.
You get butthurt over this shit really easily man, and the fact that your automatic response to someone who disagrees with you is to call them a "kid" completely demeans any point you may have been trying to make. Doesn't matter how relevant you think you are, when you start slinging insults and being condescending, you lose. Now seriously, calm the fuck down, its a game.
Or anything to do w/the New, TombRaider. (( Color me Surprised. ))
i think i was sold on this title just from the E312 Demo alone. Looks SW33T!
The "rape" controversy won't hurt the sales though. 3 Extra Copies here i come!
Fair enough. Can't argue with that.
@Collateral E
You're definitely correct in saying the games press loves to cover controversy. It gets page views, it raises ad revenue, it sparks debate and brings people back for more. Why do you think the title to every Jimquisition is obvious troll bait? But I'm not gonna go so far to say that this is some manufactured conspiracy to destroy Crystal Dynamics and their new Tomb Raider.
There is clearly a sizable portion of the enthusiast games community (though clearly not the majority) who are upset not only about the direction of the game itself, which IMO is just kind of shitty but I'd personally let that go in and of itself, but the way the game has been marketed. Yea, the PR sucks but *that* is my issue with this. I'm far from alone with that. Look around (beyond just Destructoid).
To simply cop out and say "well it's a female protagonist so people are gonna bitch about it no matter what" isn't the right way to go about it IMO. While Alyx isn't the main player character in Half-Life, she is a perfect example of how to do a well rounded, believable character who is female in a video game. And taking things purely from a gameplay perspective, look at everything Samus and Chell as silent protagonists managed to do in Metroid and Portal, respectively.
Beyond Good & Evil wasn't nearly a big, but Jade's another great example. Hell, you could even make a case for the old Lara Croft, putting aside her overt sexualization. Or all the games where your own actions shape your female protagonist. Fem Shep much? Maybe if the motivation for the new Lara wasn't "you need to protect her like a strong boyfriend" it wouldn't be so overtly offensive and ridiculous. But it is.
@ShotgunDiplom4t
How's the saying go? When you act like a child, you get treated like one?
Oh, and fortiori, this guy's a perfect example of exactly what I *didn't* want to do with SayWord. "Oh, you called somebody a kid for acting like a child. ARGUMENT INVALIDATED YOU LOSE NOW LOOK AT MY CLEVER USE OF SARCASTIC DOUBLE POSTING I'M SO EDGY."
Way to make your point, GUY. Happy now?
Nope, not buying it. You cannot change the dialogue about your game by showing a nice young actress speaking enthusiastically and carefully about your game. No amount of obfuscation through showing different imagery, from this day forward, can help your company now.

I'm not even going to bother to stoop to your level of idiocy considering that lowering it with every word. You really need to grow the fuck up.
I never said I had a problem with rape being in the game. I have a problem with them marketing the game around said rape like it's a bullet point on the back of the box next to "2-16 player online multiplayer".
@ShotgunDiplom4t
You bothered enough to rage double post and reply again. Why are you here again if you're not going to "stoop to my level"? Exactly. Do yourself a favor and take your own advice.
