Meet Hello Games, the studio behind No Man's Sky

1:00 PM on 06.27.2014

After its prominent showing at E3, there's been a lot of discussion about the design process behind the universe exploration title No Man's Sky. How is it possible that such a small team is making such an ambitious game? That's the burning question.

Some of that -- more the human side than the technical -- is covered in this behind-the-scenes video. Interestingly, four members of Hello Games locked themselves away to work on the prototype of No Man's Sky in secret -- in fact, they even had a separate office entrance.

Wow. No Man's Sky looks stellar. And it's launching first on PlayStation 4, at least when it comes to consoles. It's a little hard to believe something this pretty was developed by a tiny indie studio that just got flooded out of their offices. My hat is off to you, Hello Games.more

Apple, Banner Saga studio frustrated by iOS game market

The Banner Saga is coming to iOS, but porting isn't the developer's major concern. That's pretty much already done. Stoic's main dilemma is how much the game should cost on the platform. "Apple is frustrated, along with every...more
