You may be sick of WWII shooters, but there's still some life to squeeze out of this genre -- at least, according to EA. Take a look at the latest Medal of Honor Airborne trailer for next-gen consoles. While it may look like more of the same, at least it looks good doing so. Yeah, I'm one of those people that keeps playing these games. Their fun, engaging, and I just like learning about WWII, what can I say? I'm a sucker.
Yeah, I'll play it too. Although I'm tired of being turned into a super special OSS agent or something similar in these games. Apparently thousands of German soldiers, tanks, and artillery pieces aren't exciting enough, we need to be sent on secret missions too.

THEIR fun, engaging WHAT?
Will somebody please think of the children?
Sorry, rough day at work, I am grumpy. Bad grammar gets my attention when I feel like this.
Niero i could lick your (robot) face, totally agree about cod3Wii...how many times did the pointer disappear off-screen at the worst possible time? (answer:many times)
AND all the inherent warmth usually involved in sniping? Gone
Not to mention grenade "mishaps" and tension-killing slow-down.Oh and i spent ages at the tutorial on the first level, endlessly spinning...Phew, gonna get off my high horse and be quite now...
Being able to pick the area you start out in is pretty cool; having to put up with enemy fire while you drift slowly toward said location isn't.
It could be cooler if they shorten the fall, or allow you to use your rifle while descending. Also, scenarios that take advantage of the unique hazards facing a paratrooper would be neat.
Being separated from your platoon, having to cut yourself down from the tree your chute is caught in, all the while being stalked by Germans who know you're *somewhere* around would be pretty exciting.
I do wish they would at least think of using other eras for this genre, however. I'd buy a WWI game in a heartbeat.
Using your rifle while you fall would mean that you wouldn't be able to control your chute. The way the paratroopers gear was distributed made if very difficult, if not impossible, to fire their rifle as they fell. That's why most enlisted men procured sidearms, which they could reach easily and use with one hand, especially if they did get caught in a tree or something similar.

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Thanks!
