A demo for the newest Medal of Honor game, Airborne, is available for PC and Xbox 360. The PC version of the demo weighs in at 1.27 GB, while the 360 demo is about 970 MB.

While playing this demo was certainly a visceral experience, I'm not entirely sure that gamers who aren't already fans of war games will be sold on the concept. If you want to know what you're missing out on, just watch the video above.

Medal of Honor: Airborne hits PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on September 4.

Definatly seems like the era has been done to death, but at least in this one you can start the level any place you want as you drop in instead of being placed in the same spot every time.

I got this at Gamespot last Thursday. The full game looks like it's going to be great, or at least the spawning is.

Just noticed the demo not too long ago, sighed said DO NOT WANT and tried out Skate since im not a big extreme sport gamer.

i tried to get myself to like it, it's just not my cup of tea, was also disgusted by the amount of product placement that could be thrown into a demo, gratz EA. hurry up with BURNOUT already, it's only decent franchise you have left to ruin.

Cool, it's like playing Call of Duty on my PC in 2003. Seriously, EA. Enough WWII games. They peaked with Call of Duty 2 and MOH should be glad that series revitalized the genre since their Pacific Assault was crap.

As much as I hate almost everything EA publishes, this game IS alright. I'm completely in love with the gunshot sounds. If you really want to enjoy the game CoD style though, change the controller scheme to config 2. MUCH better than default.

@Rainbowblack

Command & Conquer and all of Valve's stuff haven't been touched yet.

Agent Chieftain: Well considering EA only took over the distribution for Valve and are not their publishers, that's no surprise.

Just played it. Other than the whole landing down in any area you want. It was just another WWII shooter. I got bored rather quickly. I really hate the weapons from that era. They're not accurate enough. I want a war game set in modern times. Oh yeah COD4! Yeah WWII shooters are basically dead. They milked the shit outta that cow!

Oh yeah another gripe and this may seem a little weird, but I actually perfer shooting my weapon in the original MOH for PS1. It had more of a Golden Eye feel. It was fun shooting enemies. Shooting enemies in this next-gen MOH, not so fun. They're going for too much realism. My gun shakes too much and the fire blast in front of the gun is so big. That I can't see who i'm shooting at, coupled with the fact I'm being shot at. It's a distracting mess

Gotta say I actually really enjoyed the demo even though I was not expecting to. The dropping in does add a feeling of actually being there as opposed to the usual follow the rails and kill scheme. Its not perfect but EA may have just got 60 bucks from me. But I probably will skip Medal of Honor Airborne 6: Super Nazi Commando Special Edition, which will probably release in about 3 months.

The level 1 AI in the demo gets pretty boring after a while. Other than that I enjoyed the game and the sound effects in this beat Saving Private Ryan + Band of Brothers quality (don't even mention CoD, worst weapon sfx ever).

@ agent nixon: i had to switch to that controller config just to be able to handle the game, hahah.

as for the landing/flying where you want. not really. it lets you decide to coast from where they start you. you'll never get to land out near the outer flak cannons, meaning though the enemy reacts to you, its still pretty linear. and when i would land on the building sometimes it would glitch and as i left there would be no one inside or around it. meh. and this map is just pretty shitty. i was much more excited for the others. all in all its not the best presentation they could have given.

also, the map still has invisible walls. i mean, obviously the outside of the map is blocked off, but i tried to jump up from one ledge to another in the middle of the map and before i reached it i just hit a wall and dropped. so meh to them.

Generic WWII SHOOTAN GAEM. Health recovery? Since when did MoH have that? The last MoH game I played though was underground for PS1

Truly the the worst thing the Nazis ever did was inspire an endless stream of WWII based FPS games. Oh yeah, and that whole Holocaust thing.

I honestly don't know what's left after this. We defeated the Japanese in the Battle of Midway. We invaded Okinawa. We landed on Iwo Jima. We freed the Solomon Islands. We liberated Manilla in the Phillipines. We've storm the beaches of Norman D. We paratrooped and encircled the German troops in the Ruhr. The Korean war and Vietnam?

hmm not bad i'll wait til brothers in arms though i think. am i the only one craving a game like operation flashpoint? no war game in my opinion has come close to it in terms of realism (small things like having to crawl when shot in the legs, or having botched aim when shot in the arm and having actual medics etc) or open endedness, imagine what could be done on today's systems. that or a (shock!) another ww2 game but in the jungles of pacific islands with crysis like visuals.
oo and on an unrelated note how wank is the blazing angels demo? games that piss on history annoy me
