MC Lars is pretty awesome in my book. His debut album, The Graduate, gets frequent play in my car. And Bayonetta looks pretty damn awesome too. In my head, I imagined that MC Lars (with collaborators Random and Beefy) doing a song about Bayonetta would be kinda like what those guys at CERN are up to.
Sadly, for a guy who has been known to rap negatively about marketing and consumer culture, this just sounds like another advertisement to me. I can't imagine that you could really do it any other way, either, which means that those guys at CERN really ought to watch their asses before something goes horribly wrong on their end.
I will say, though, it's nice to hear the chorus vocals provided by Tina Root (formerly of the band Switchblade Symphony). Those of you who are really excited about Bayonetta might want to look away from the video should you want to hear the song. There's a lot of game footage in there and I'm worried I might have spoiled something for myself.
Which reminds me, I need to run out to the store and buy the game. Right. Now.

Not a huge fan of the song, but I can tell you for sure that the video is practically spoiler free. You really don't see anything in this that you couldn't see from one of the trailers.
Heeell yeah Tina Root! Best part of the track too, love it. Always enjoy Random & Beefy too; haven't heard enough (and probably the wrong parts save a cool track or two) of MC Lars yet.
Not paying much attention to the lyrics or video yet, waiting with caring about anything Bayonetta until we actually play it (looks fun as hell from what has unavoidably been seen though).
Good to see Tina is still in the biz, Switchblade Symphony are one of the best darkwave bands of the 90s. Shame it's on a fairly average song, and that her vocal track isn't particularly distinctive.
MC Lars is awesome! I saw him live here in Rochester NY back in '07. He hung around after the show, just talking with anyone who came up to them and signing CDs and stuff. It's nice to see him getting a little national attention.
rated M for mature and then he goes: "cause bayonetta is back and she just doesn't give a care" ??? where r the cuss words? and imho, one of the lamest rap songs heard in a while

Also, go buy Bayonetta, right now.
Yes, definitely not just you.
I should probably pick up Bayonetta one of these days. Too many games to play.
