Maybe Marvel vs Capcom 3 on the Wii? photo

Hell, why not. Well, it's not up to me. But I bet Capcom's Ryota Niitsuma, the producer of Marvel vs Capcom 3, has a say. And he says it's possible.

In an interview with Joystiq, Niitsuma says that they haven't counted the Wii out. It was just that the Xbox 360 and PS3 were a priority. " There's no mindset, personally, within Capcom where we want to go out of our way to avoid Wii or do it only on Wii this time. It's just the flow of development," Niitsuma tells Joystiq.

"Well, we can't get into any specifics, but all I can is that the game we made right now, as it is, it's for Xbox 360 and PS3. We want to see how it does and maybe see where we'll take it from there."

That sounds kind of promising, doesn't it?

How well (or not well) did TvC sell in America? I literally don't know anyone who has it.

I hope all versions of this game are made with the idea of being able to add new charcters later on.

I can't imagine Cloak and Dagger or Dazzler being charcters in the original roster, but would definatelt be worth a buck each later on.

@Magnalon, It did terrible in sales, from an educated guess standpoint. Hardly anyone in america knows what a tatsunoko is and the only one they might recognize is speed racer.

They said that it sold better than they expected it to, so it certainly didn't do bad for them. At this point though, I'd rather them just put it on the 3DS instead, or as well as the Wii. I guess either way would be fine!

@Magnalon: According to VGChartz, it sold 200k in the US, 300k worldwide.

I don't really see the need. If Tatsunoko Vs. CAPCOM was as good as it is because it was exclusively developed for the Wii I would prefer it if they decided not to just make a Wii port for the sake of a Wii port. Something makes me think that it would be worse than the 360 and PS3 version anyway with the Wii's worse online and graphical capabilities.

If it did come out for the Wii I personally think this would do better than TvsC did sales wise because people actually know who and what the characters are.

Srsly though, TvC is delightful and if it would help anything, I'd pay for MvC3 on the Wii right now.

What Xero said.

The Dead Rising case taught me how a bad port can be made by system limitations just to be at the rhythm of other consoles.

However, it could do the Ghostbusters trick where they engineered the Wii version of the game in a special style instead of trying to look as "real". They could simply go with the TvC style if they want so bad

NO.
PUT IT ON THE 3DS.
Seriously, it just makes so much more sense. If I wanted to play a graphically downgraded version of a game, at least make it portable.

FUCK THIS SHIT CAPCOM SHOULD WORK ONLY ON MVSC3 FOR XBOX AND PS3, AND ADD MORE CHARACTERS NOT ONLY 30 I WANT ALL THE CHARACTERS FROM MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2 (56)AND EVEN MORE I DONT GIVE A FUCK I THEY RELEASE MORE CHARACTERS AS DLC OR SOMETHING, I WANT MVSC3 TO BE EVEN BETTER THAN MVSC2 THE BEST GAME EVER MADE IMO, SO FUCK THE WII AND ITS SHITTY GRAPHICS.
I THINK IT WOULD BE BETTER IF THEY PORT TATSUÑOKO VS CAPCOM FOR XOBX AND PS3 THAT WOULD BE NICE

Hey! I bought TvC on day one, and it's probably the best fighting game that's come out in this whole generation of consoles. All of you who don't have it (and who love fighting games) need to get it.

Personally, I'd love to see a version of MvC3 on Wii (especially since fighting systems aren't CPU-intensive, just the graphics would take a hit). I'd certainly buy it. And I definitely support more people playing more awesome games. Capcom, Niitsuma, make it happen!

For anyone who played it at E3 or elsewhere, I think we can all agree that this seemed destined for the Wii, it looked, and played exactly like TvC. This didn't feel right on an arcade pad, or a PS3 controller, and I personally am very turned off by it. I can't say the same for the 2 people I know that own TvC, but I was hoping that it would be a return to form, like MvC2. The Wii can have MvC3, unless there is a way to change the control scheme to not feel so much like TvC, I'm not buying.

USING CAPS LOCKS ONLY MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A DOUCHEBAG AND MAKES PEOPLE EITHER CALL OUT OR GLANCE OVER YOUR COMMENT REGARDLESS OF YOUR OPINION

I hate insulting people over the internet but you're an absolute moron if you can't see how much time, money and effort would be put into making 56 separate new move sets and animations in HD. Best case scenario would be repeated animations and attacks everywhere with less stages and general polish and worse case would be a glitchy, unbalanced shitfest of a game that would completely ruin whatever made anyone like Marvel Vs Capcom in the first place.

Fighting games are some of the easiest to port. On top of that, TvC was amazing in it's own right so I can totally see this happening. C'mon, let the Wii owners have a little fun too.

+Wii doesnt really have good fighting games besides TvC(which I have,HAI MAGNALON I'M DAN),Brawl and Guilty Gear(TOO HARD).Naruto fighting games are too easy to master and I don't even want to mention the Bleach/DBZ/Mortal Kombat games...

I think it has to do with it only being released on Xbox. I never got to try it. Capcom vs SNK however hd some fans, but it just didn't have too much to make it stand out. IMO, KOF XI is better. Anyway, I would rather have a more polished version of mvc3 with a better roster on 360 and ps3 than a mediocre version on all 3 consoles. TvC is fun, but it's hardly the best fighter this Gen. I'd hate to see mvc3 end up worse off because resources were taken away to get it working on a console where the majority of players wont buy it.

As long as it's not a DR:CTYD shitport that will guarantee whining from Capcom when it doesn't sell AT ALL i'm all for it, why not?, sure i can enjoy it on my X360 but that doesn't mean Wii-only gamers shouldn't be able to enjoy it either, if it doesn't happen, tough luck at least we have TvC which is fantastic in it's own right, that said i ROFLMAO to imagine PS3/X360 fanboys collectively shitting plasma in rage should the Wii version get the anime graphics style of MvC2 that they wanted so much.

@pedrovay2003 if there is an Iphone version before a Wii version, that would be maddning and hilarious at the same time.

Lol, I can understand Capcom thinking a Wii port might be smart, but they are jaded if the think it'll pan out. How many times have they been burned on Wii previously? (let's count the way: Dead Rising CtyD, Okami, Zack and Wiki)

Indeed, damn Wii owners. Just get a 360, they are bloody cheap as chips to buy now, even second hand. Overall, after waiting so many years for MvsC3, I don't want the whole thing compromised, because Capcom want to port it to the inferior debacle that is Wii, in the name of money or fans. Besides, Wii just had TvsC, and while that game was also sweet, I see no 360/PS3 port of that happening anytime soon, while I'd welcome it, I don't expect it.

Sure I was originally there to pickup Mass Effect 2, but, hey! And yeah, I don't know what the fuck a Tatsunoko is(speed racer was too faggy for me as a kid) but the game is fun as hell! I have a 360/PS3 though, so I will buy MvC3 on an HD console.

@Magnalon: I, too, own TvC. I also own an imported copy of it from before the US version was announced. US release: day one purchase.

Anyway, I'm with the group that wants this. I think the Wii's classic controller is the best joypad for fighters on consoles, barring possibly the madcatz Saturn pads for PS3/360, which I haven't used. And fightsticks are another beast entirely.

Point is, I think that if Tatsunoko vs Capcom had been marketed better, it would have had a LOT more sales. A lot of people I know didn't even know it existed until I found out about the Japan-only release, and while it doesn't have as much character pull as a Marvel title would, the gameplay is stronger than any MvC game released so far. TvC wasn't going to sell incredible numbers, being a 'hardcore' game on a 'casual' console, with more than half the roster being completely unfamiliar to most players. The fact that the sales numbers aren't shit means that a Marvel game could do pretty well. I'm sure most of us who bought TvC would by MvC3, especially those who have wiis, but not the HD boys.
