Maxis co-founder confirms work on new Oddworld title photo
     YEEEEEEAAAAAAH BOOOOOOOYYY!

Speaking at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, Maxis co-founder Jeff Braun confirmed involvement in an upcoming Oddworld sequel.

"They're such a talented group of people," he said of the series' creator, Oddworld Inhabitants, "and I really trust their ability to create compelling content."

This would be the first game since 2005 Xbox title, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, but don't go trying to pre-order the game just yet. Braun admits the game may not ship for "years." I'd be happy if the game ships at all; I certainly miss the quirky sensibilities of Oddworld Inhabitants, and I'd love to see what they could do with next-gen hardware.

Oddworld is awesome. I remember playing the original on PS1. At that time, I had no idea why the game was a side scrollerish but I loved it. The first Xbox one was pretty fun too but I only played the Kiosk versions and never got that far.

I personally wouldn't mind them having a mix of both the 3d roaming along with some of the old school 2.5d platforming. Of course, that's if this game ever makes it out.

I love my XBox tile. I've got it all over the floor of my kitchen and bathroom. The thing I love about it is it's so easy to clean up spills.

DO WANT, by the way.

I'm interested to see if it focuses on puzzles like the
first few games, or is it an action game like Stranger's
Wrath. Probably the latter. I'm happy either way.

Sorry that was just too good to pass up. Though now I'm wondering if there would actually be a market for that. There's gotta be plenty of people who would design their bathroom around an XBox theme, right?

Please please please, be like Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath! That's got to be in my top ten favorite games. The characters and gameplay was just WOW in that game. One of the best FPS's I've ever played. I didn't dig Munch's Odyssey all that much though.

This is awesome news. The oddworld series were great.

It'd be cool if they were working on the "Oddword: Hand of Odd" RTS game they canceled, that sounded interesting.

Oddworld Inhabitants never actually closed, they just said they weren't making any more video games and were working on a cg movie. I love their games to death, but they definitely payed the price for abandoning their fans and going with the XBOX.

If they make the new one like the first two, I'm down. I never tried Stranger's Wrath, though I hear it was pretty good. Munch's Oddyssey was so bad that it turned me off from the games though.

Oddword was always one of my favorite games.

I'd love to buy a new HD one. They haven't let me down so far.

The only one i was skeptical was was Stranger's Wrath because of it's FPS style.
But it won me over, was tons of fun.

Very happy!!!

I was a HUGE fan of Munch's Oddysee, but never got to play Strangers Wrath because my original Xbox died before I got a chance to check it out and I don't see it listed on the backward compatibility list on xbox.com so I guess it is not worth tracking down a copy. Hopefully they will add it sometime soon.
