Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Chubby Max Payne may have forgotten how to use a washer and apparently the value of a cardiovascular exercise, but he hasn’t forgotten how to shoot things in slow motion. At least, that’s what this Max Payne 3 teaser trailer tells me.

We’re not entirely sure if this is an official trailer or not. In addition to that, it appears to be ancient by Internet standards. Following the logo at the conclusion of the trailer, the words “Coming Winter 2009” pop into focus from the inky blackness. This is bad information -- the game was delayed into 2010 with a host of other Take-Two published titles earlier this year, leading us to believe this video hit the 'net without approval.

Regardless of the release timing of this trailer, we do like us some Max Payne and definitely down with slow motion bullets. A solid tease, we believe. What do you guys think of it?

[Update: Internet.]

For some reason, on the home page, your video is the Rev Rant, and has character encoding issues, but is fine past the jump.

Also, video is new to me, though it still doesn't make me care about Max.

If I had a nickle every time I heard that, I would have no nickles as sex in my life is a non-existent :(

@Anthony: I'd prefer you to Max's redesign! Especially if there was a Braid speedrun minigame.

"A new noir hero, conflicted with emotions"

"Max Payne is...ANTHONY BURCH!"

Anthony: Why am I doing this? Its like I'm stuck in a world of nonsensical violence and melodramatic stories. Isn't there something more? Can I be anything more profound and self-important than this? WHY CAN'T I BE THE STAR OF A GAME ABOUT THE PLIGHT OF GAY JEWS DURING THE HOLOCAUST!?"

Random thugs: WTF is that guy's problem?

Anthony: Shut up, I'm having a moment. *Jumps in slow motion towards the screen, guns blazing*

COMING IN 2010

Anthony as Max Payne would soley consist of him wearily entering a room in bullet time, then complaining to the surrounding thugs about how they had fallen into stereotypical gaming conventions and also how they're the victims of developers using cinematic imagery and noir iconography for shallow means.

...

Hell, I'd buy it.

Now I'm gonna be sad when this game comes out and isn't starring Anthony Burch.

This new Payne reminds me of George Clooney in Syriana (http://www.gclooney.com/movie_syriana.html), well, a little bit, the beard and the chubby.

This teaser reminds me of some of the bullet-curving from Wanted, at least in the idea that he fires a ton of rounds seemingly all at once and just throws them at the bad guys.

I am going to call fake. Or at the very least, sloppy. It looks fantastic, but the fact that the vignette on the edges goes over the production time code in the bottom-left corner seems strange. Maybe that's just me.
