35GB? WTF is it an MMO? Hell most MMOs aren't even that big with all the expansions and patches. Wonder how gimped the consoles versions will be.
Jesus. 35gb? Biggest game I have on my HDD is Shogun 2 and it's around 26gb.
I'll probably end up picking up the DVD version at some point, since it takes me an entire day to download 10gb on my farmland internets. Feels bad, man.

I was in San Diego a couple weeks ago and downloaded 1gb in ten minutes. I wish I lived there for that reason alone.
I meet these requirements, but I think a new video card (~$200) would go a long way in helping play it and other games (Diablo 3, Tribes Ascend, Space Marine) with better framerate and sliders cranked higher. Thank God for 1680x1050 resolution monitors lowering stress and helping my 3 year old comp last as long as it has.

Im still having frame rate issues with GTA 4, same with PC versions of the assassin's creed franchise. Those games are terribly optimized. We need more PC games like Hard Reset.. man, that game runs great on both my laptops and my PC
Jeez why not just say "Every PC under the sun from 2006 to last Thursday". Still kind of disconcerting that they did not bother to mention the recommended specs just the maximum resources the game could use which is not saying much. I mean in all technicality lots of PC games have the same maximum system resources or just a statement of "Whatever you can throw at it".
Rockstar does not have the best PC port job record and that even goes back to ViceCity and the mystery of the surprise texture pop at 10 feet. I guess it remains to be seen what comes of this.

This is going to cause them the same problem Crytek had with Crysis 1. If you let a game "scale" way up, then people will *say* it is demanding, even if it looks amazing at "medium" and most PCs can run it at that. Commence people complaining that it's "poorly optimized" because they can only run it at High and not "Ultra" with their PC when Ultra is really meant for later generations of PCs.
And of course even Low will probably blow the console versions away.

Also, potentially ridiculous texture quality, which would explain why the game can scale up so much in terms of RAM etc. So bring that sh*t on I say.

@Stinky: Not really complaining, it's just a stragely huge amount. Most retail games are 4gb to 15gb. As an example Skyrim, as massive as it is, is only about 6gb. I'm guessing people won't be able to complain about the lack of high resolution textures for this game though.
Most people will have beaten it twice by the time it downloads for me.

Ever heard of pre-loading? Steam usually allows this for pre-ordered games. This does make me wonder though. How many discs will the 360 version be? If they've crammed it all into one disc, I'll be really impressed. Perhaps SP on one disc and MP on the other like Battlefield 3? Time will tell...
Jeez. 35 gb. That's a big chunk of space and Rockstar doesn't exactly have the best record for PC ports. Maybe it'll be better to wait it out and see if it's properly optimized or another lazy port.
Think people are forgetting about pre-loading. Can't imagine they wouldn't do it for a game that big, at least on Steam. And frankly I am skeptical about the size requirement. Even if it's 35GB installed that would be uncompressed. Most games on Steam, if you watch the download, actually download significantly less than the amount that is installed.
Oh, and some download services require you to download an installer first, THEN install the game (GreenManGaming, GoG, etc). Thus you would need roughly double the hard drive space free for the installer and the game itself. It could be the game install is only 15GB and they are making sure people have enough space to do the installation.

You must have a really terrible pc if you can't run GTV4.

Sheeet, even if my supposed 50Mb internet runs at it's peak, 35GB will still take around 2 hours to finish. In my world, that's too long.

@MrBoBo1: Man, your condescending comments never cease to dumbfound me. Why don't you ask people their specs before making baseless assumptions tinged with a hint of self-prescribed superiority? GTA IV's port job was shit, and much like "Hydrophobia: Prophecy",even high-end PCs lagged when running them because the devs did a poor optimization job.
