Max needs a shave and a clean shirt in Max Payne 3 photo

Game Informer will drop yet another exclusive in their July issue, this time with Rockstar's Max Payne 3. 

The issue's cover shows off the new look of the "dark hero reborn." Seems like the guy needs a shave and to find a laundromat; looks like he got spaghetti sauce (or something, who knows with this guy) on his shirt and pants. The issue will contain the requisite 10-page story which will "give you the scoop on what has happened to Payne over the last 10 years and why he's back to a life of blood and violence." 

The magazine is probably hitting mailboxes soon, but like I usually say, I expect all of the details to hit the Internet in three, two... anything yet? Anyone?

Errr he looks almost exactly the same as the new Sam Fisher only bald... Why do I have a horrible feeling Max Payne 3 is going to suck? Oh well, here's looking forward to Alan Wake instead.

Did people all of a sudden forget that this is being developed by Rockstar? The dudes who's games receive the best reviews average of any games company out there? Well yeah, they're developing this. Seriously, it really bothers me when people judge a game before it even releases. Although I will agree that he does look like Sam Fischer.

This is the designer in me speaking, but I'm really not digging the logo font, Looking forward to what the story says, though. Can't wait to get this in the mail.

After literally beating Max Payne 2 yesterday all I can say is what the eff? He looks like a retarded Sam Fischer. Rockstar, stop what you're doing, just wait for Remedy to finish Alan Wake and then let them restart this abortion of character design.

I understand that it's been 10 years for Max, but seeing him look like this feels like he's a lot older than he should be. Either way, as long as I can do kickass stuff as this guy, I'll be happy.

Bionic Commando's Nathan Spencer will ALWAYS have this title. Forever.

Maybe it's just a little taste of what happened to him, or what will. Relax people, as much shit as Max has gone through, I don't mind seeing him old and beat up as he is. Snake's aging was a biological thing, Max's was a really fucked up life, which in turns makes it for a deeper character, and alot of metaphors.

Yeah, that was why I was replaying the game. I just beat it on detective but instead of playing it two more time I ended up just watching the ending on youtube.

This looks shit. Looks barely anything like Max and I guess the game must be set in the future or he is suffering from some disease that causes rapid onset aging.

I don't recall Max saying "Fuck it yo, I'm going to grab a bottle of whiskey, roll into and bin and spend the next 10 years throwing up on myself" at the end of The Fall of Max Payne.

That is not a good design - Nothing that makes Max Payne who he is is on show here! The smirky face, quiffy hair, leather jacket, all gone: he's not even wearing a shirt anymore, loud or respectable! :(

I'm sure this will lead to some great monologues and action...and anyone crying about his look should realise old school skins will be made by the mod community...

No I haven't played the game and yes it could be brilliant, and I will reserve judgement 'til I play it. However, this concept art isn't filling me with a great deal of hope, I'm hoping that I'm wrong to feel this way but I maintain my reservations.

I like that art style for GTA concepts, not so much for Max Payne. I just hope they stick to the graphic novel approach to the storytelling. I'm already a little concerned that I haven't heard anything about Sam Lake working on it yet.
