Matt Hazard merch resurfaces on eBay for a good cause photo

Four sets of retro Matt Hazard memorabilia have shown up on eBay. The seller, who is totally some random dude and not at all selling the stuff in the name of marketing, is going the respectable route: all earnings go straight to the Child's Play charity.

Each auction -- there are four of them in all -- contains one gray XL t-shirt for Haz-Matt Karts, drink coasters made out of game cartridges of Adventures of Matt in Hazard Land, Choking Hazard, Matt Hazard 3D, and You Only Live 1317 Times, as well as a Matt in Hazard Land-themed friendship slap bracelet.

God, I love the insane amount of backstory that's been created for the Matt Hazard games.

Man D3 is doing a great job on their end. Somebody at Vicious Cycle needs to come through for them.

This would work better as a massive injoke if the *real* games didn't exist. The quality of the game just doesn't reflect the great lore they have. Hopefully the Xbox title will rectify that somewhat.

Personally the "real" game is fine i think. It's not a bad game, maybe just a good game. But considering it is a parody i think that only adds to the joke of the whole thing.

Hazzard is perhaps one of the most influential characters in video game history now with the power of hindsight

XL? Why do they all assume ALL gamers are huge?

Matt Hazard was not a good game, which sucks, since it had so much potential.

Eat Lead wasn't a good game, but it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Nowhere near as bad as the 51 Metacritic score it currently has.

You want bad, play the Saw game. I tried to get through it so I could write a review for it, but I just couldn't. It wasn't hard, it was hard to play.

If they're smart, the Hazard team would be wise to perhaps pick up on this idea and throw in a Haz-Mat Carts tee with every new reservation. That alone might bring people on the fence to pre-order. I know I would.

"XL? Why do they all assume ALL gamers are huge?"

They can only make it one size and they have to ensure that everybody can wear it. People who wear a small size shirt can still wear an X-Large, but it doesn't work the other way around. I'm still bitter that the Megaman Anniversary shirt only came in Medium, because my shoulders are too broad and even if I had single-digit body fat I couldn't wear the damn thing.

Anyway, anyone who complains that the original game wasn't "all that great" was missing the whole point of the game. It wasn't supposed to be some mind-blowingly original and super awesome game, it was supposed to be making fun of games. Additionally, the games controls worked just fine, which is more than I can say for a lot of the games people claim are better then this one.

I'm going to try to win one of these sets. Matt Hazard was amazing and I'll support Vicious Cycle and D3 until death.

I really need to try and win one of these. But I have a feeling all 4 auctions have a maximum bid of 100 bucks from at least 1 bidder.

Even though I'm apparently the only person who liked Eat Lead.
