Matt Hazard explains how to deal with being a wash up photo

Some new Matt Hazard news is coming, and to herald its arrival, we received a handy pamphlet from the star of the game himself, the titular Mr. Hazard. The pamphlet is a guide to finding one's inner strength as a faded videogame hero and learning how to rise back to the top. It contains handy hints and reminders that one's thighs are mighty.

The pamphlet is kind of stupid, but that's the joy of Matt Hazard. It's kind of stupid, and that makes it kind of great. I'm glad some news is on the way, since the first game was pretty fun in spite of its problems and I really think this parody series has some legs if the developers can refine the gameplay a little. We'll stay tuned this Thursday for fresh intel on whatever's next for Matt. Hopefully that retro-style XBLA game is on the way.

can't help but think this would have been more effective had matt hazard ever actually been "at the top".

They shoulda named the Matt Hazard game "Duke Nukem Forever" but not changed any of the in game dialogue.

I can't help but think that Tracy Morgan is the black ninja in that last picture.

Is the bald guy meant to be Max Payne from Max Payne 3? If so I laugh a lot and the reference to Chun Li was decent. I Agree with Psycho Terro2 though - this games whole premise would have been much better if there had have been a previous Matt Hazard (perhaps they could have bought some license for a forgoteen Nes or Gen character or something.

It also hurts that Matt Hazard isn't particularly good.

I really enjoyed Matt Hazard. Not every playable game has to have a 92%+ metacritic score. I would like to see more Matt.

"Not every playable game has to have a 92%+ metacritic score."

True, but when a game has a average of 51% on the PS3 and a 53% on the 360, that tends to point to it being a really bad game. All of those reviews can't be wrong, can they? Sure some of them can be wrong, but not all of them are going to be wrong!

The marketing for Matt Hazard is funnier then the game itself.

I don't really understand why Sub-Zero is there, because the last MK game sold well over a million copies, and the last Matt Hazard game sold negative - 4 copies.

Matt Hazard was worth a rental. I appreciate the lower price point it launched at ($50), but even that was a real stretch considering how unpolished the game was. Everything just felt kind of cheap, and the gameplay, while serviceable, was just kind of uninspired.

Still, I had a decent amount of laughs while I played, so I'd definitely be interested in seeing what else the developers can do with the franchise.

I'm puzzled at the people complaining about Matt Hazard having cheap, unpolished gameplay. It worked fine for me, and the humor in the game was great. Matt Hazard is my favorite action game of this entire gen so far, and I can't wait to see a sequel.

@Gen
I'll give you that the gameplay wasn't that bad, but the humor was absolutely atrocious. It sounded like Will Arnett was just rushing his lines for a paycheck (I'm a huge Arnett fan), and the actual jokes were so juvenile they were terrible (ITS HAZARD TIME! : OH MATT, NOT AGAIN! ::cue laugh track::).
