Master hacker: BioShock 2 achievements leak photo

Xbox 360 Achievements has gotten its hands on the achievement list for the Xbox 360 version of BioShock 2, and well...they look a bit familiar.

Sure, there are a slew of "secret achievements" that are tied to BioShock 2's story. But is it just me or does all of the other stuff look like it could have applied to the original? Well, outside of the multiplayer achievements, of course. Becoming a Big Daddy for the first time in multiplayer gets you the "Disgusting Frankenstein" achievement; save your first Little Sister in multiplayer and get dubbed "Mother Goose."

At a recent Sony event in NYC, BioShock 2 Lead Environment Designer Hogarth De La Plante walked us through a few areas of the upcoming title. What I found was that it reminded me a lot of the original; although some of the window dressing was new, it all looked and felt really familiar.

Perhaps too familiar? I'll withhold judgement, as the game's out soon -- February 9 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Full achievement list after the jump, or head over to Xbox 360 Achievements for a prettier, formatted look.

I don't make any conclusions form the above list. As you pointed out Nick, there are plenty of secret achievements in the list. I would be disappointed if they did not abide by the "If it aint broke, don't fix it" philosophy. Bioshock was a great game and the sequel will be successful based on whether the story, atmosphere and gameplay are solid.

i agree with momomo66

Bioshock was cool, but not sequel worthy. not the same way that dragon age is, which is what it thinks it is.

now just to wait for deus ex 3 and theif, like, 5 and SS3...

Up until a couple months ago, I cared about Achievements. But then I started playing games FOR THEM, even though it was a game I might not never play (TMNT, Lost, etc). Playing through Uncharted 2 was an eye-opening experience and shook me out of that worthless trek for a higher gamer score, which is just as worthless.

I have a gamer friend who hasn't been able to pull himself from it. He's played all of the Cars games, and even Space Chimps. He'll play through a game three times just for achievements. Meanwhile, I'm playing Persona on my PS2 and loving it while he's bored out of his gourd. I think I'd enjoy games more if I could disable the Achievement messages.

So for BioShock 2, I could are less. I'm playing this on the PC, with or without achievements.

Wow, how uninspired. Did they just copy over BioShock's Achievements over? Some originality, please.

I wish achievements were 100% optional, so people didn't act like they have any bearing whatsoever on the actual game's quality.

@Magnalon Huh? Achievements are optional. You can choose to completely ignore them during the course of the game if you like.

I believe Magnalon means in the sense that you can set them to off. Ie: ignoring them completely and not earning any by accident - not even if you complete the necessary requirements.

I can see where he's coming from. Having the annoying 'ding' and pop-up can detract from the experience in certain circumstances.

@War Zombie

I didn't see anyone bitch about Uncharted 2 doing the EXACT SAME THING.

Next we'll hear bitching about difficulty achievement/trophies are overused...
