Master Chief looks sick on the PS3 with Unreal III user mod photo

Confession time -- I've only installed one user created mod designed to work with the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament III. Prior to its release, I was positive that the capability would yield some really interesting results on the console, and was pretty excited to check them out. Then life and work happened.

But these Unreal Tournament III character mods by community modder Organ are too ridiculous to ignore. Just check out Master Chief, for instance, who's looking as good -- if not better -- than he does in Halo 3 on the Xbox 360. Organ has also created some pretty slick looking character models of Gears of Wars' Macrus Fenix and the Locust, in addition to Todd McFarlane's Spawn and Final Fantasy's Cloud. This is impressive work indeed, but it's only a matter of time before the legal hounds are released on some of these puppies.

I haven't had a chance to check them out on my system, but I think I'm going to take some time out of my schedule tonight. You can see more images here along with links for downloads. Unfortunately, they're all available via Megaupload, and I was bombarded with messages about how there are hot singles in my area waiting for me to call them. My wife is not pleased.

[Thanks, Peter!]

This happens all time with games that support MODS or RESkins.

My Counter Strike 1.6 had Jill from RE3, Sam Fisher, Master Chief and other Spartans, Predator, those skinny robots from the Star wars prequels, And naturally Miss Croft ;)

Also, I retouched the original pic enjoy :

I am amazed at how much time these people have to create something like this.
I am sure each character is days of work. Dedication for sure, it would be great on a CV though if you wanna get into this scene professionally.

Nick, I think you should know this.

Organ didnt create the models, he just ported them to the PS3. He credits the authors in all his posts saying so. Most of the models were made by EvilEngine, but some were also made by Davision and Loki. There are a few others as well. Organ is just allowing them to be converted and played on the ps3.

well i have a ps3 and so far only game that allows user content is UTIII, they gotta put more games up like this, it'll be make it more like the ultimate version of the game, which is always the PC version lol. consoles can't compete with the almighty pc.

Unless the console version outsells the pc version :)

@ Qraze

the community is called Facepunch Studios. It's not an actual development studio.

They rip models out of games and other interactive media and put them into other games and mods, like G-Mod for Half-Life 2.

Look them up.

These models were created by EvilEngine NOT Organ. Organ only cooked these for the PS3 without EE's consent and on top of that they are only BETAs. All the modeling was done by EvilEngine and you can find his REAL releases at:

Please update your article.

XONE, not completely true. Some of the models arent EE's. Most are. I mentioned to Nick twice before you have here and he never changed them. On top of that Organ credited EE, never once did he say they were his. Also EE now has on his own site the betas Organ cooked.

Please, please credit the original creators such as EvilEngine with regards to the mods mentioned in your article.

You may fall back with that "it's the internet" excuse, but c'mon at least show some respect for the hardwork done by the original creators here.

I got UT3 on PC when it came out, played it for a week, and then quit. No one I knew had it for PC.

@freeman1: They make the mod the same way they would for PC (on a PC). Check out the tut if you're interested:

Of course someone made the Gears guys. Where do you think they got the idea to make Gears of War? (hint: Take a look at UT2k4's roster in Single Player, and then check the Human characters...) Separated at birth? or just a recycled idea and an old modded game?
Why do you think I refuse to pay full price for Gears? Because it's just an overblown fucking UT2004 mod.
I was going to mention this on my other post earlier... I remember someone was working on a Perfect dark 64 mod for UT2k4. That would be fun.. I do miss the Dragon, and Super Dragon.
