SCEA and MLG Gamebattles have joined forces to offer a buggering flickload of prizes in its Killzone 2 Online Championships tournament. The hot items up for grabs include T-shirts, replica Helghast assault rifles and evenfull-on Helghast uniformsvalued at over $8,000 apiece.
Four-man teams are being assembled now. If you're in the US and over thirteen-years-old, you can go right here to register your team. I am hereby putting out the call to KZ2 players to join my own team or at least let me be on theirs, so if you're handy with a rifle and want to fight by my side, let me know. I am seriously entering this one way or another and wouldn't trust my virtual life to anybody but Dtoiders.
Who's entering? Even if I don't get onto a winning team, some of these prizes MUST get into the hands of the Destructoid community. If you're going to register a team, let us know because I'd love to provide running coverage on Dtoid teams during the course of the championship.

I'm confused by the prizing structure though. Do 4th, 6th, and 7th place not get any prizes or do they just get the same prizes as the rank that comes before them?
Oh well, I've been playing too much Warhawk lately and will need some time to get back into the swing of Killzone 2. Probably should do that before Team Beta requires my services for FnF.
I'll talk to the other clan leaders about putting a blog up to organize teams. We have 60+ players between the two clans, and while not all of them are active, I don't see why we can't get several DToid teams signed up in the tournament.
Definatly cool. I'd like to join up but I don't play the game nearly enough to win any prizes in a tournament. It'd be fun though. And hot damn a full fledged Hellgast suit of armor, man I wish I was uber good at this game.
Shit like this makes me wish I didn't have a real job. I say people who work regular hours (9-5) join together, and then not get pissed when the wife reminds members that they have other shit to do and hastilly quit out.

If it fits you, a Helghast uniform would make ONE BADASS Halloween costume! I wonder if you'd be able to see out of the glowing eyes--I'm sure you can but it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be a design oversight.
