Mass Effect to rock your PC in May photo

With the high level of anticipation leading all the way up to its release, and the raves it garnered on  the Xbox 360 when it finally did, it was pretty much  inevitable that  Mass Effect would be coming to a PC near you, sooner or later. Well, if you've been holding out for that optimized version,  May is your lucky month. Your ultimate version will include:

-Optimized controls designed specifically for the PC.
-High resolution visuals Mass Effect for the PC features highly detailed textures, characters   and environments.
-Fully customizable controls PC gamers can re-map the control scheme any way they like.
-Run & Gun Control Players can assign biotic powers or skills to hot keys allowing them to play Mass Effect with a heavier focus on action.
-New decryption mini-game.
-New inventory screen GUI and functionality The enhanced inventory system makes it easier for players to equip and modify their weapons and armor.

Most of that stuff is the usual fare, but hey, who's keeping track of  silly things like that? Thanks to the nightly news,  we now know that Mass Effect is really nothing more than a hot alien sex simulator --  by the way, Bioware thanks you in advance for the free publicity.

To those of you who already played through the Xbox 360 version, I ask you this: planning on going for sloppy seconds, or has your taste for debauchery just about been tapped out? Inquiring minds want to know.

I would totally buy this if I hadn't already beaten it for the 360 (last night! WooT). Oh and that whole "sex scene", it was about as long and involved as your first time on prom night, about 5 seconds..Controversy? lame.

Great game though!

Woot, alien sex ftw. And thanks to modders, maybe we will get "full nudity and graphic sex with any character anytime."

I got the chance to try this a while ago and I really liked it.
I have no 360 at the moment so great news! I doubt anyone is surprised by this, but great nevertheless.

I'd pick it up twice if they released a community mod kit. User maps, models, that would be awesome!

This and the Ace Combat 6 for PS3 rumor have once again shot my desire for a 360 in the foot.

Microsoft needs to stop putting games it publishes on both 360 and PC. I need a couple games I (1) cant play on anything else and (2) am actually interested in to make the plunge on a second gaming machine.

I wouldn't mind owning the machine, but if I can play the games without spending the additional $350 to do it then that's $350 I have to spend on more games (or food or something dumb like that).

Looks like I'll be getting Mass Effect again, although I doubt I'll be paying for this copy. I'm a little disappointed as I believe BioWare made a statement saying there would be no PC release until all three games were finished, but I really don't mind that much as I got to experience the game on my awsome tv the first time around. This'll be the better version, as usual, so I guess I'm going to have to build a new gaming PC to hook up to my television. *sigh*

I've been waiting for PC version. As usual, devs denied the superior PC version was coming right up until a couple of months before they release it.

Can't wait. Hopefully it's available on Steam and has the DLC as well.

I really liked the game when it came out for the 360 but I hope they fix all of the technical problems. They marred what would have otherwise been a masterpiece. It sounds like they are fixing some of the design problems I thought they made with the controls and interface, which was sorely needed.

I loved Mass effect on the XBox, but even though I am glad it will be out for the PC, I won't be playing it again.

Maybe I'll take a look to the new stuff (not much of it is there?) at a friend's house if anyone I know buys it.

So why again do I need a 360?

Every "exclusive" so far is coming to, or will be on, PC. So for me to buy the game rather than a whole new system is great.

I'm happy with my superior 360 version, I don't need a monolith of PC to run it and despite the pop in its bound to be more stable than the PC verson.

@Mix, Halo 3 and Dead Rising are on the PC? I didn't know that.

@Kyousuke Nanbu

Halo 1 and 2 are on PC so 3 is common sense as far as I'm concernced and I don't even like Halo. Dead Rising was bad, I love all things zombie and this game was extremly dissapointing.

Ah, may that's about a month before i plan on getting a new computer... pretty nice timing ^^

ah, for every 360 game that crosses platform to the PC, comes one less reason to buy a 360... especially when you either have, or need to get a high end computer

@Kyousuke Nanbu
Pheh, my friend got halo 3... It was great at first, but it took me only a few weeks to grow bored of it... not to mention, as the makers of Mass effect has shown, just because a company says their not gonna port to PC, doesn't mean their not gonna port to PC

So much hate to PC gamers here. To have multiple platforms for the games is a good thing.
I dont have a 360, i want to avoid buying one since I dont like things that break...

So this is great news for me. You just made my day.

I just hope it's XP compatible.

Granted, I don't expect EA to do anything Vistasclusive, and I know it's only a few Microsoft Games Studios that have been, but let's just say I don't really have much trust these days.

Why do we need consoles again?

PC output in Hi-Def widescreen - check
Can use game controller on PC - check
Games run smoother with customizable graphic settings - check
Easier to patch - check
User created mods - check
Online multiplayer - check

Not to mention no release delays due to cross platforming. One console to rule them all? Yes, it's called PC.

Hey, PC stalwarts, relax, hey ;)

Why don't you ask yourselves why you need a PC, since the 360 costs as much as a mid range graphics card ;P

but yeah back on topic, the control scheme was pretty sloppy in the 360 version. It would have been nice to be able to map abilities to the face buttons and use the bumpers for reloading and interacting, or something.

Still probably the best game to be released last year, IMO.

I am a PC gamer that is glad the 360 exists. If these titles came out on the Playstation, we would not be seeing a port for them. So even if PC game sales decline, as long as the 360 is around we will get ports of its greatest hits. I see it as a symbiosis.
