Mass Effect for DS? Bioware says maybe photo

Speaking of downgrading next-gen games, here's another concept to chew on: BioWare's Miles Holmes says that the developer is considering bringing Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Jade Empire to the DS. In fact, he also mentioned that Sonic Chronicles was a specific effort in hopes of getting BioWare's handheld division off the ground.

Holmes specifies that he would want to see Mass Effect on the DS the most out of all the franchises, also mentioning that the studio has a lot of plans for the series. For me, Mass Effect is another one of those titles that, like BioShock, I prefer to play in all its high-res glory, but I can't say I wouldn't be interested to see what a DS incarnation might look like. Thoughts?

It would be neat to see what could be done, for sure. I'm guessing elevator rides would take less time. ;)

Oh geez--now even more pressure's on Sonic Chronicles to be The Sonic Game That Doesn't Suck. If I were a religious man, I'd pray for them. Maybe.

I would rather see some QUALITY DLC for the 360 version that has interaction with the main plot or something that leads into the the next Mass Effect. "Bring Down the Sky" was not up to par in my book and felt like any other of the many sidequests in the game that were not 5$. That just has me worried that a portable will be a crappy cash in version (see:Assasins Creed DS). But I guess we'll see.

Oil's down, the dollar's up, and now I might be able to play Mass Effect anywhere. It's been a good day.

I think a massive down grade to 32-bit style graphics might be in order. Anything 3-D would just look unbearable next to the 360-version. I also think it would be awesome too see somebody pixelate everything.

I'm betting no more character creation, map travel is down graded, of course, story stream-lined, and how about also cocks.

Still I'd be more interested to see a KOTOR come to DS before a newb like Mass Effect.

When Bioware got taken over by EA, everyone made jokes about how long it would be until Mass Effect got ported to the DS.

Thing is it was just jokes X(

Mass Effect on 360 = Best Game on 360. Mass Effect on DS = Best Game on DS.

If the story is a great as the 360-version, I'd use my DS even more :-)

@UnderLines -
Do you think that Mass Effect in it's last format is really a good game platform for DLC?
In Oblivion where the world is a sandbox, when you're done you can still wander around and as such you can explore the world and the DLC with your character as you left off. In Mass Effect, when you finish the story, you're done, done. You have to start from scratch and go through the entire storyline again in order to experience the DLC.

It just seems to me that a linear story like Mass Effect doesn't mesh up with the DLC concept in the same manner. I wonder if they can figure out a way to make it just as accessible.

I'm just curious as to your thoughts.
