Mass Effect DLC 'Pinnacle Station' is live photo

No more drama. Mass Effect DLC “Pinnacle Station” is available for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. It weighs in at 246 MB and is priced at 400 Microsoft Banana Credits. New Avatar space armor is available for download as well.

The Swiss Xbox Web page's details are accurate. According to content's dashboard description blurb, it takes place on a “top-secret” Alliance Space Station where players can put their combat mettle to the test in thirteen different scenarios. It’s said to take players two-to-three hours to complete and apparently includes a land-able space station (we haven’t the slightest what that means).

One story-related caveat: to access the content, Shepard needs to be a Spectre. In addition to that, it’s likely that he’ll need access to the Normandy’s mapping system, so don’t advance too far and expect to check this out, space cowboys.

[Thanks, Arrested Developer!]

What about the PC version? Is it on their site to download?

Well that kind of came out of nowhere. I finally have an excuse to do that last playthrough to get the last 2 ally achievements; now I just have to wait a few more hours..

Wow I would love to do this, but instead of shiny new avatar armour when I switched my Xbox on, I got the shining red light. E74, yay.

A week after I get Mass Effect, and two months before Beatles Rock Band and Left 4 Dead 2.

:(

I'm confused... is the PC version out or not?

The problem with Mass Effect is that you can't continue playing beyond the endgame. They've come out with all of this DLC that I want to play, but I can't unless I restart the game. I actually bought Bring Down the Sky before I realized you couldn't just pick up from the end of the game. There's no incentive for me to really do that. It's a 40+ hour game. Plus your characteristics might transfer, so I can't even choose different dialog options without affecting Shepard's disposition in Mass Effect 2. The game would be a lot better if it were still open-world after you beat the main quest like in Elder Scrolls or Fallout.

I say it in every Pinnacle Station story: Fuck you Bioware!

Release DLC and no endgame play? Bull! Especially for the whole character transfer thing.

I'm beginning to think as far as ME1 goes they were really unprepared. No endgame but DLC? My crew doesn't carry over in the new plot? C'mon Bioware!

All this rage aside I know I'll cave in eventually. At least I have the comfort of knowing I have a whole to beat the game and ALL this side quest...again...god dammit.

Then again maybe it pays to wait until I transfer and then get the DLC. Fuck you and your hold over me Bioware.

Mass Effect 1 always had New Game + (replay with same character / higher level) rather than beyond endgame play. A save game before you land on Ilos would allow DLC play (and then replay the end portion of the game...about 2-3 hours). You can also start a new game with the same Shep (I've found the game MUCH more enjoyable when replaying at a higher level).

@Br0th3rGr1mm - But I have to choose the same dialog options if I want Shepard to remain a paragon. While the ability to replay the game at the edgame level is neat, I still wish the game had more respect for my time.

If I just want to plow through a 2-6 hour bit of DLC, the game shouldn't make me play 5-10 hours of something I've already beaten first.

I've bought it and played for a bit - frankly, with me not being a big shooter guy, I'm disappointed. It's all just boring combat simulations with a weak story written around them trying to get you to do them. I'll still finish it for the cheevos, but doubt I'll ever play it twice. I would have preferred something a bit more story-oriented like Bring Down The Sky again, that was the best side quest in the game.

The DLC is out for PC users on EA's digital store, FYI. Also has a new patch on PC, fixing some minor issues.

yeah steam auto patched my Mass Effect today. But no thanks on the DLC. I mean if both were available as retail expansion or something. But I just dont really like having to keep up with EAs expansions via their website. Battlefield 2 ruined me of that.

@StingingVelvet

I have the Steam version of Mass Effect (What? It was cheap). Unfortunately it doesn't sound like the DLC is working at this time with the steam version. Imagine that! However if anyone has any info on that, that I'm not privy to, I'd love to be informed.

@ Runtheplacered

I am reading the same thing, it won't install on the Steam version. I haven't tested it myself, since I don't want to buy it and be screwed.

I would advise you keep checking the Bioware forums... the developers actually respond there with honest commentary on what is going down.

If it doesn't work on steam, it will work on steam soon.

Man, that N7 armor is sweet. Too bad I will never ever buy anything for my avatar. Would be nice if you earned it somehow from playing the Pinnacle Station DLC.

All good, it's VERY combat orientated though. Also, not only did it bug so I couldn't move in one simulation it also crashed. Hmmmm.
