Downright freaky. Fans and Fandom creators....tsk tsk.

Where a staggering 97% (10,728 votes) want a more hopeful ending, while only 3% (313 votes) think the ending is fine the way it is.
I think that's a much more telling poll.
I didn't really have a problem with them, but I get the disappointment. They were expecting closure and got something more mediocre than DXHR endings, which at least had narrative at the end.
I didn't have a problem because I knew what was expected was too broad given the nature of the choices. That and I like dystopian endings.
*SPOILERS*
controlling the Reapers so that life could still continue even for the geth, although it seems like everyone would be separated from each other now that all the mass relays are destroyed.
Videogames.
Kinda like Deus Ex: HR, the developers left us with a multiple choice question when we reach the ending, and leaves a feeling of a rushed and uncared for script. What happened to Mass Effects main feature of choices that affect the outcome? How come everything my Shepard worked for is all thrown away in an instant? And what the fuck is with the logic of the purpose of the reapers and their cycle?!
The ending didn't help wrap up the epic trilogy of Mass Effect, and Shepards adventure. That just left me with several unanswered questions, and then some that were never answered before.
Honestly, I would love to see a better ending to Mass Effect 3 than what I was given. I would rather see a scene of what happens a little later after that fateful battle. Kinda like Dragon Age: Origins that gave a run down of what happened from our choices and actions. Then a scene for those who wanted something happy to occur between Shepard and his/her chosen partner.
I don't know, but I'm sure there are plenty of endings that can be better than what was given, and because of those choices I feel kind of cheated on my money.
but i can clearly understand where these guys are coming from, this was supposed to be the epic ending to the ME trilogy and it isn't great at all, kinda renembers me of C&C4.... so yeah i'ven there and i know how it feels.
Because nothing says happy ending like a Beach Party Film ending.
As for the effort that went into the epilogue, I can understand the disappointment. Bioware have been degrading the last five years, especially in terms of worthwhile story-telling. In Dragon Age: Origins, you get an incredibly detailed ending. You basically find out what happened to every single person you meet, regardless of whether or not they're a nobody NPC. There's like 100 different possible combinations.
With Mass Effect 3, they give you a one minute ending to send you off from being a fan for potentially five years in the series. Content wise the ending makes sense, but I can see the lack of effort and closure for fans.
Also to those nulls (yes, I call them for what they are; conditioned cattle, nulls of little worth) the whole "self entitlment" bandwagon is infintile at best. It's like whipping out the line "get a job" at someone who says that ten dollars or even two, or three dollars is outrageous for some petty content. Atleast that person has a sense of surrounding, and understanding. They do not blindly follow like sheep, or drones. To the nulls I say - "headbutt a bullet."
Oh well, great game.
Except you DO kind of write it, that's the concept of the choices BioWare put into the game, creating YOUR story.
This is fucking stupid. ME3 fans are officially full-retards.
I like Bioware games a lot, but this level of dedication and fetishized worship is completely beyond me. I might understand if people petitioned to have the end of Bioshock changed, but even that is just pathetic.
Oh wait, I might see that through the wonderful invention of DLC.
There were many emotional moments. I damn near cryed at the first time of any media when Tali killed herself. But that ending was just... Cold.
The choices. Not 'the choice'. The choices.
Clearly, the ending was supposed to be something else, something better...but that didn't happen.
The gamers of the mass effect series invested a lot of time, hung onto their saved games for each title, created different Shepards for different run-throughs to see where alternate decisions would take us.
Only, in the end, to be told that 'well, that's all swell, but nothing you did mattered. We said it would, gave every indication it would, but in the end it didn't.'
This is the first time in my 22 years of gaming I've seen this many peole come together on something so fast. You can expect people to not like the game, you can expect people that dislike the way endings are handled...it happens with every game. But normally...normally these people are in the minority in a series this big.
This time, they are the majority. That should tell you something; it's not 'entitlement'...I'm sure there are some, but it's most definitely not the bulk.
in mass effect 1 we fought a supposedly undefeatably entity, won, and had a happy, triumphant ending. in mass effect 2 we went on a suicide mission, survived, and had a happy, triumphant ending. why could it not happen in 3?
the ending is terrible anyway, regardless of how happy or unhappy it was.
I didn't care much for it, but whatever.
My problem is the fact that the make three games where the driving factors is this specter of player "choice," and you are forcibly funneled into bullshit resolutions, moreso in 3 than any previous game.
That is borderline unacceptable.
I can agree with the argument that some corners were cut for this game, but that's it. The complaints in regards to the story leave me with the impression that these people just made up their own ideas of what Bioware would do with the games.
Here's the deal. I’m a HUGE BW fan boy. Played every game since Kotor, got multiple CE'S for their games Lol got 2 swtor CE'S (1 me 1 for wife) Paid for 2 6months subs to swtor. Got every dlc for me and da. Actually like DA2 and enjoying Swtor.I own every book and during the midnight release I saw ME3 shirts, bought 2 and the hat. Seriously I’m a BW Fan boy. BUT THIS IS WRONG. These endings are just bad. Tacked on. Yeah I want the "Disney ending, walk off into the sunset with my LI" why? Because life sucks enough without having my escape from reality (i.e. video games) sucking as well. If I wanted this kind of ending I just wouldn’t have played.

Besides, as much as I like Mass Effect, all the endings to both the prior games have been absolute shit --if this games ending is that bad, its just following tradition. I don't remember a whole lot of press and pressure to get that retarded Human Reaper baby changed...
If they do cave (and seriously, I wish they won't --hell, I wish they'd not do it in retaliation to all the entitled bitches that bitched about whats-her-faces writing, when she didn't even write for this game) then I hope its an optional free DLC, or added in some way that is completely optional.. Because I'm not getting the game yet, but I'll want to see the original ending whenever I do..
@Lydeck
I hate to say its not telling at all when that poll is a fan on BioWares own forum.. Why? Because thats where all the BioWare fans who think the company is great while also thinking its the devil risen from the cage, hang out. Its the epitome of "entitled masses" over there a lot of the time.
@arkane9
Only if Garrus can keep doing his calibrations.. Those are important.

My only question has to do with the huge, gaping plot hole (SPOILERS): How did Joker know to run from the explosion presumably before it began?
