As many of you may know, Mass Effect 3 is including a multiplayer component, and the demo for said component is set to hit February 14th. Fortunately for people who refuse to pay for Xbox Live, Microsoft is launching a joint promotion with BioWare, allowing everyone to join in on the fun for a "limited time" with Xbox Live Gold access.
According to an ambiguous post from Bioware's forums, this temporary deal may also include all Xbox Live Gold benefits, from Gold sales to Netflix/Hulu Plus access -- provided that you download the demo. Details regarding when the actual window of opportunity will take place are coming soon, but if the promotion runs from the date of the demo until the March 6th retail release for Mass Effect 3, that'll be twenty one days of free Xbox Live.
If you're wondering "what about the PS3 demo?!" -- well, that's coming February 14th too, and as always, online play is free on the PSN. Ok BioWare, so this deal sounds pretty sweet -- now just give me some actual ME3 Tali pics and no one will get hurt.

Uhh, no, Tali did not die... She might have done so in YOUR game, but in mine she is my romanced character and was very much alive by the Mass Effect 2.
I'm willing to give it a chance. The Single & Multi modes have been developed by different Bioware studios, so they won't impact upon the quality of one another, and this trailer for multiplayer actually makes it look pretty interesting.

Don't really need a multiplayer component in Mass Effect but I'm willing to give it a shot. If it sucks or bores me then I'll just stick to the single player.
Sorry man, but Miranda's body maybe hot, but her head looks like a Christmas Ham.. Or Frankenberry
Playstation Underground 4 lyfe.
Totally!
They sent me a plastic card with my name on it, a demo tester PSP disc for Jak and Daxter(I believe it was to beta) and a free hat.
Now I get nothing, lol.
Also, I'm glad they won't be pulling that "need gold to download demo" thing they've been doing a lot lately
Making a quality product with moderate success will never be enough. One must grow at unpredictable rapid rate like that of a cancer.
EA... I hope you all choke and burn for yer CoD killer or GTFO approach to the game industry.
my old eggsbawks died, so I lost my old renegade shep.... plus I'd like to go back and keep a few people alive that I didn't in the first one...
Prolly juss wait a year for the triple pack that'll hopefully have all DLC from all 3 games... THAT"d be worth a double dip, no doubt!
It's ironic that EA actually started out being an actual group of artist video game producers. Now they are second only to Activision is their greedy stance, which will eventually make the whole industry worse...
The founders must be turning in their graves (or beds...)
Madness aside, this seems like as good an opportunity as any to get one rendition of Shepard to close the deal on a romantic entanglement in Mass Effect 2 before the Valentine's Day demo drops.
There's no more ideal way to demonstrate one's devotion to a game than 100% completion, is there? Besides, you know, working on it for 4 or more years of your life.
Because multiplayer diverts resources and effort from the single-player game.
You know, the REASON people played Mass Effect.
You're assuming that based on nothing. Let's say ME2 had a $25m budget. What's to stop them from asking for another $25m for single player development, plus another $6m for multiplayer for ME3? Nothing. Without intimate knowledge of their resources, everything is baseless conjecture.
Not to be a downer, but....I don't think a package with all three games will happen.
The first one was published by MS game studios.....unless they work out a deal with EA...won't be happening...
I'd rather they take that "additional 3 mil" and put it towards SP.
