I'll be frank: I haven't downloaded any of the paid add-ons for Mass Effect 2. Perhaps I'll buy the whole lot down the road if I ever decide to do another full playthrough, but for now, I will say that "Lair of the Shadow Broker" seems like the most ambitious -- and worthwhile -- add-on.

Before this trailer, I wouldn't have been so positive; it's nicely cut. While it wouldn't be too shocking if most of the best moments are shown in this video, it's going to be a struggle not to give $10 to BioWare come September 7, when "Shadow Broker" hits PC and Xbox 360.

I've bought almost all the DLC and I must say I can't wait for this to come out. I'll take any slice of mass effect 2 Bioware hands me.

A fairly major plot point gets resolved in DLC that probably won't factor at all into ME3. Let me guess the Shadow Broker is a AI or whatever.

Ooh. Is she actually going to be an available squad member?

I'm right in the middle of my first playthrough for this game. My sniper renegade female Shepard was trying hard to stay true to her, but has started to cave for Garrus, adorable little burn-scarred hideous mutant that he is. This could be trouble...

I've bought all DLC, but have yet to play the most recent stuff and use those new weapons. Needless to say I'lll buy it and get round to playing close to ME3's launch.

It would be interesting if you could change your love interest in the shadow broker DLC. If you say rejected her in the original.

It's slightly relevant and compelling to the main story, that's why this'll be the first one I download.

I think you can still dump your love interest through normal gamplay by talking to them where they stay on the ship, but don't quote me on that..

I bet the Shadow Broker is kind of a legacy, and Liara is the new Shadow Broker, and she's just manipulating you into killing one of her enemies, then at the end you'll have the tragic twist, kill the Shadow Broker and end his legacy once and for all, or save the woman you once loved/saved your life.

Looking forward to it. Never liked Liara but I've always wanted to know more about the Shadow Broker and it looks like this DLC is going to move the plot forward.

I originally had no plans to get any liara based DLC because the change between her in ME1 and ME2 was so radical that it seemed to just make her character boring and bland.

The fact that i might get to kill the shadow broker and it involves teammates has made me change my mind though

This looks great. I haven't bought any of the DLC either only because the random Overload mission and another gimped squad member like Zaeed was wasn't tempting for me. This looks great though a worth the 10 bucks.

@Jordan: I'm the same way with DLC, especially in regard to RPGs. I'll wait for the whole lot to come out, then get it all at once and start a new playthrough.

This strategy also gives me some downtime to get excited for the game again. Starting a new playthrough too soon can sometimes feel like a chore and totally turn me off.

Skipping trailer, buying DLC. I recently went back to ME2, bought all the DLC and played the game on Insanity, had a great time. Kasumi was a neat new character with a great mission, and Overlord was really impressive. Bioware is really rocking, and I'm looking forward to seeing this part of the story.

I'm really interested in how this factors into relationships formed during ME2. Given a choice, I think my Shepard would go back to Liara from Jack. The whole Jack thing just sort of happened. She was just really interesting to talk to...

How long does it take to play through a DLC mission. It seems that you can polish off a non-DLC mission in about an hour, tops. $10 seems a bit hefty for that amount of gameplay.

They already have my money. I only bought the DLC that gave you Kasumi as a character. Of course, they did the same thing with Zaeed and never have her talk after their loyalty mission was over.

Kasumi actually comments on your relationships...who cares if she doesn't have a talk wheel.....

Once, she commented that I banged Miranda in the place where Tali worked.

Are you sure you'll be getting all the DLC for free? All I remember seeing announced was "hours of bonus content" which for all we know could be dumb "making of" videos...

Well, i should think so. I would think Bioware is not going to short change the PS3 gamers by not including the DLC. That wouldn't make sense right?
Although now that you mentioned it, i hope they don't just add a "dumb making of" video. *gulp* o_0

Nah guys, you wont be getting this for free. Other stuff for free, sure, but not the more premium DLC.

I'm pretty stoked. This looks fun, and much more of a relevant arc than the other DLC has provided. Not Liara's biggest fan, though. Despite my best efforts not to date her, Liara was my romantic tryst in the first game. Even playing pretty purely paragon, I mos def enjoyed yelling at her during those 2-3 dialogue choices in the opening scene of ME2.

If that was true that would be a shame not to make use of the blu-ray capabilities of the Playstation 3 and include all the DLC, free and premium.

Now I kinda regret cheating on Liara with Tali. My intention playing as a paragon character and avid Liara fan was to stay faithful but Liara was so different I felt like she was a different person. Even after reading the comic book her drastic change didn't seem warranted, hopefully this fills in the gaps and lets me have a tri-xeno threesome with Liara and Tali.

yeah, all they said is that the PS3 version will contain 'a lot' of the DLC, not all. i would assume you get all the weapon and armor shit, plus the tank DLC. maybe even Kasumi and Zaeed, maybe, but this is most likely not going to be there.

My problem with the previous ME2 DLC is that it couldn't afford to bring any of the voice actors other than Shepard's back, so they could really expand on any of those characters or create many meaningful interactions. Of all the paid DLC, I'd say that only the last one, Overlord, was worth the money, but even that was no where near as good as any part of ME2 or ME1. It's just inherently difficult to make a DLC pack that is as good as any part of the main game.

Liara is voiced, so that's good. But none of the other characters are. I understand that it would be far, far, far, far, far too difficult and expensive to get all the voice actors back together to record dialogue (what with scheduling difficulties and whatnot), but that is exactly what it would take for the DLC to be very good.

Ah well, I'll buy it anyway. I'm a sucker for ME2 stuff.

Jordan, at least get the Overlord add-on. It's pretty good, better than all the rest. Kasumi as a character is a bit meh, but the mission design is beautiful. Anyway, the Shadow Broker is a must-have for me ;)

@D-Roy. Its supposed to bridge the gap from ME2 to ME3. Y'know like the comic did for the first game? :/

It's looks awesome and they really do add something unique to the mass effect DLC every time. Good job, Bioware.

Troll detected. Any complaints that imply that the ME2 wasn't a big enough, or complete enough game as shipped are clearly just trying to get a rise out of people.

Fully agree. There was more than enough meat on the Mass Effect 2 bone, especially if you bought the game new and got the Cerberus Network DLC for free.

So this is looks like it is what I suspected, about hitting the Shadow Broker for Feron(see Mass Effect Redemption). I'm not sure if that really feels "earned." Feron did help her with the events of Redemption, but considering how quick she was able to get over the death of Benezia, possibly at her own hands, the fact that she would obsess over getting even with the Shadow Broker to the point of blowing off Shepard, romantic entanglement or no, feels more than a little uneven.

I'd be quite surprised if the PS3 version gets any DLC for free that was not free for PC and X360. There WAS quite a bit of free content early on (Cerberus Network gave, Zahead, SR-1 Crash Site, and Firewealker DLCs). I'm guessing those are the "bonus content" PS3ers will be getting with the game. If they include Kisume, Overlord and Shadow Broker DLC with the PS3 game, I'll be a tad upset.
