Mass Effect 2 'Shadow Broker' add-on priced and dated photo

"The Lair of the Shadow Broker," BioWare's latest digital offering for Mass Effect 2, is on the all-too-near horizon. Of course, that means it's about the time when they start nailing down the specifics. This add-on hits PC and Xbox 360 on September 7 with a standard $10 asking price.

It's going to take us through Illium and, naturally, explore the Shadow Broker's not-so-secret hideout. Perhaps more important than anything else -- I know you guys too well -- is the following tidbit: "fans from Mass Effect 1" can "continue a relationship with Liara."

The question is, do you really want to? Oh ... you do. Riiight.

[Thanks, Josh]

sweet. you probly can't add Liara to your party can you? Even if it's just for this mission?

SWEET. The other DLC doesn't really interest me that much right now, but this one is kind of big to the story.

My full Paragon character had a relationship with her so that'll be interesting to see if it's before or after you have a fling with another female in the crew.

OMG SO EXCITE!

After the cold brushoff she gave me in my ME2 playthrough, I can't let my heart get broken again. I'm only half joking.

Also, if anyone didn't read the comic involving Liara and Shadow Broker, before the actual game, you should. It's interesting and short.

I wonder if my ME2 choice (Tali) will kick my ass if I decide to pursue Liara again.

Just fucking great. I plan on being faithful to Liara when I start Mass Effect 2, then OH, LIARA ISN'T A ROMANTIC OPTION IN ME2, then I pursue a relationship with Tali, then this shit comes out. Why you all causin' drama, Bioware?

More cash for Bioware? Sure why not. They've made my favorite game of the year and if my continued buying of DLC funds their terrorism, I'm happy to be a benefactor.

Considering the fun part of the hobby, I'm looking forward to playing through this. Aside from reconciling my fling with Jack (One thing lead to another... she was really interesting to talk to!), I'm hoping to get some cool universe expanding/building/enlightening going on against the Shadow Broker!

I actually didnt get to have a relationship with anyone in ME because I didnt talk to them enough I guess. I was too busy exploring and killing things. Which is exactly why I went out of my way to have one in the second game. I didnt want to miss out. Which of course leaves me in the position of not caring about Liara.

Curious.

Still, for 10 bucks they have to be offering a lot more than the other DLC has offered so far. Otherwise I'm not too terribly interested even though I loved the game.

>with a standard $10 asking price.

in fact, its not standart, every addon that came out before, cost $2 (armor\weapon packs) or $7 (new character\mission pack), so this price is kinda higher.

I'm interested in Liara as a character, but there's no way in hell I'm dumping Tali.

I'm hoping that the higher price means that the mission is a decent length. Overlord and Kasumi's Stolen Memory were good, but pretty short.

But still, I'm ridiculously excited for this and I'm not even a big Liara fan.

I'll be picking this up even though I chose Ashley in ME. On a side note however, the ps3 version better not get any of the paid add-ons for free. I don't mind the game coming to the p23 at all, everyone should have a chance to play this great game, but if Bioware gives away paid content for free they're going to have tons of pissed off xbox and pc owners on their hands.

if it were in the main game, I'd have loved this. Unfortunately I've already beaten the game with the character she was intimate with and I was brushed aside by this bitch when she should have been more affectionate. Bioware killed my interest in this DLC by the way they made the game.

Thankfully this will have repercussions in Mass Effect 3 so I'll absolutely feel like I was missing out.

I find the comments about choosing one interest or the other very curious. It's almost as if some of you are saying "I chose 'X love interst' so now I can't do 'Y' in Lair." Maybe I'm just obsessive. Or crazy. Or both. But I have several different characters and even different versions of those characters. Some have one love interest, some have another, and some don't have one at all. Like the rest of the games, I plan to play Lair through in as many different ways as possible. Or until I get bored. That's the fun of Mass Effect.

I'm curious how people know that this is going to be free on the PS3 version. They said they'd include stuff. Not what stuff. So you'll probably be enjoying paying for it on the PS3 too, just like us. Just saying.

for some reason i doubt the PS3 version will include this specific DLC. it will probably include most or all of the DLC that has been released up until this point, but i dont see the good in releasing DLC only for it to be free 4 months later. not to mention, this feels kind of like post game DLC and i am sure there will be a few more to come if they truly do wish to bridge the gap between 2 and 3. so i would guess the PS3 version comes with the weapons and armor DLC, and the extra characters and Hammerhead tank. add on the prologue to get them caught up from ME1.
