Don't think I'll double down as I recently finished my second play through but am happy to see that PS3 owners will get a beautiful version of an incredible game.
I'm currently playing through ME2 on my second playthrough with all DLC. I'll have no temptation to play it a 3rd time let alone buy it again for another system.
Don't think I'll double down but I am annoyed that original purchasers of the game (PC/Xbox) are essentially being jipped. I know PS3 fans had to wait but getting the extra content at the same price as the normal game cost makes me like I got cheated paying for DLC
It's good that it's going to look better and all but I definitely wouldn't call this the "true" version of the game, especially since there is no Mass Effect 1 that leads into this game on the PS3. Instead from what I've heard you just take some sort of quiz thing to determined what happened. Sounds awkward. (Not sure if that's true so don't quote me on that)
This title might as well be "Bioware tells customers to rebuy their game for the 'Real experience', wants more profit."
I still lawl at the fact that they do not have plans to release the first one.

Seriously, though, that's really unexpected. I do already have ME2 on the PC, but I'm certainly going to check the PS3 demo out. The thing is, I haven't finished playing the PC version yet, I got too caught up in Fallout: New Vegas, Borderlands, and GT5, so I'd probably be more inclined to picking up a PS3 version than most who own it on PC.

I think I will double down, I want to see the Mass Effect 3 engine. To add a little context to that, I've played Mass Effect 2 SIX TIMES. I'm essentially a whore for ME2. As for PS3 not getting the first one, I don't see the big deal. Mass Effect 1 is kind of a stinker. If an interactive comic means I never have to play ME1 ever again to get the whole story, I welcome it.

<pointless complaining>It's good for those who only own a PS3, but these kind of decisions only serve to disrespect those who make the original purchases that makes the game a success in the first place. Admittedly, I likely still would have bought it for 360 so that I could carry over my saves, but as someone who takes great care in picking out the "best" version regardless of console, it always irks me when something changes that choice after the fact.</pointless complaining> Oh well, maybe I'll check it out down the road for cheap.

Anyway, I will be getting this one, I got the first two on PC and I hate using the keyboard to move. If there was an integration of joystick and mouse, I'd be all over that, but I'd rather play it on PS3.

@WesternGamer1000 i was just about to say that same thing. I have played both games and Mass Effect 2 was the better of the two. The first one was good, but the side mission were horrible. Riding around those empty-ass planets was tedious as hell. The mining in ME2 wasnt nearly as bad. I didnt mind that they ditched the inventory system either.

Every story I hear about ME2 on the PS3 makes me more excited for its release. I never got the chance to play either of the games (no 360/PC) so this is awesome news. Looking forward to the demo!
I hate the use of the word true. It could easily be interpreted that the Xbox and PC owners were intentionally given a bastardized version of it.
As big as this release should be for Bioware, it seems kind of strange that there don't seem to be any pre-order bonuses for it.

I love it when these developers go, "Fuck you, loyal fanbase. You can just eat shit." I don't know why, but it seems to happen a lot more when stuff gets ported to PS3.
I never bought any of the DLC and if ME3 does have multiplayer, lack of XBL Gold would screw me over. So yeah I'll double down.

I have it on pc but I fear that I wont be able to run three on said pc.
If I can't I will be getting 2 on ps3 so I can then continue the story on ps3.

No doubling down for me. It was a fun game, but I'm not interested in paying extra for slightly improved graphics.
I beat it twice as both my paragon and renegade characters while renting it on the 360....but if this really is noticeably better graphics and engine-wise, I may finally buy it to keep, and on my lonely, dusty PS3 no less....
Excellent news for those who have had to wait this long, and it should be interesting to see how shiny the new engine looks as a nice prequel to ME3.

To those who already forgot about the Mass Effect 1 situation:
Mass Effect 2 for PS3 will have an interactive comic that will go over the events of ME1 and allow you to make many of the decisions that affect ME2.
Yes it's not as good as playing the actual ME1, but do you really spend time playing ME1 knowing you can play ME2 instead?

Will get this for sure, even though i thought ME2 was short compared to ME1. Or maybe it was just because I got sucked right into that game that the time flew by.
finally... a good port. I use "port" lightly since Bioware are badass and would completely overhaul the game as they evidently did. This is the type of support required in all multiplats. that way we're all happy
