Mass Effect 2 'Arrival' DLC might be on the Horizon

Following a patch to the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2, the updated trophies list for last year's space savior simulator hints at upcoming DLC called 'Arrival.'

BioWare forum member Vamplosion took some pictures of 'Arrival' being a separate trophy entry, as well as the three 'Arrival' trophies themselves.

Not much is known about it so far, other than the trophy descriptions which mention a certain Dr. Amanda Kenson. Keen eyes recalled that she was the subject of a Cerberus Network news entry dated January 24th, 2011. Incoming trophy and Mass Effect 2 spoilers incoming!

This entry states:

“Historians and astronomers alike are abuzz tonight over a new paper published by Dr. Amanda Kenson of the University of Arcturus. Her team claims that by testing the dust trapped in the gravity wells around a mass relay, and comparing its composition to that of dust clouds in the same system, scientists can create a timeline of when the relay passed through the dust. Her conclusion? "Only a small fraction of the mass effect relays date back 50,000 years," she writes, "The majority are far older, indicating they were created by a species predating even the Protheans." Dr. Aurana T'Meles of the University of Serrice met the information with skepticism: "While Dr. Kenson's methods appear sound, the asari tried a similar procedure centuries ago and discounted it. What civilization could have spanned the galaxy for not thousands, but millions of years? If this were the case, we should have found mountains of evidence of their passing. Where is this species now?"”

The trophy entries appear to state:

"The Ultimate Sacrifice" - Complete the Arrival DLC.
"Last Stand" - Survive all five waves in the battle for Object Rho
"Covert Action" - Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.

The BioWare forums are rife with speculation, with talk about possible stealth gameplay, what exactly would be sacrificed and whether or not this will be the DLC to bridge events between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.

The last piece of DLC, Lair of the Shadow Broker, was a culmination of previous DLC experiments with gameplay elements and pacing, so perhaps stealth will be a valid option. Or perhaps it will just be a matter of solving a puzzle to open a pathway that lets you take a sneaky route.

With the Reapers on their way to our galaxy, most likely towards key homewords including Earth, Object Rho could be another Prothean relic that shows the impending Reaper fleet's location or something like that. Or it could be something that hints at yet another, final, piece of DLC to bridge straight into the beginning of Mass Effect 3.

Some other forum members noted how previous DLC had different pricing and a different amount of achievements/trophies in the past, which could hint at possible length and pricing, or at nothing at all. Either way, I'll take any new Mass Effect 2 DLC regardless of what it is.
