Well, I wasn't expecting Muramasa, but a 2D Vanillaware game of any sort would still be welcomed. I still think Muramasa is the best looking game I've played on any system this generation.

damn, i want them to port Muramasa to 3DS. hopefully they will also port Deadly Premonition(like they said before) and make new Rune Factory.
Any 2D Vanillaware action game would in essence be Muramasa 2 (or Odin Sphere 3). I will slap the man who's holding out for an actual Muramasa sequel.

I wonder how Vanillaware art would look with token 3D effects for foreground, middle ground and multiple background layers. It might be pretty decent, like when they used polygon warping (or whatever it was they did) for stuff like breathing effects in Odin Sphere. Or even inside a single layer... Instead of just having a tree with moving branches, they could be at slightly different depths.
And it wouldn't have the 3D with a flat background effect that some other 3D titles apparently suffer. And looking like a pop-up or cut-out book wouldn't actually be bad for Vanillaware art.
