Marvel.com has just revealed the return of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. Oh like you didn't know this was coming! It's set to hit this Summer on Xbox LIVE Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
So far, the only thing that looks like they're going to add to the game is some new artwork. Otherwise, expect it to be the same game you all know and love. So who's excited to get their curleh mustache on?
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and take a look at the gallery for the sick promo art.
[Thanks, power-glove!]
Update: Capcom-Unity has more details on Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. It's based on the Dreamcast code, it will have HD upscaling, optional widescreen, all 56 characters are unlocked at the start and will feature custom soundtracks. Also, you can play the game THIS WEEK on the PlayStation 3. The demo will be available in the US this week and will be available shortly in Europe soon after. No word on a Xbox 360 demo at this time. There's an HD version of the trailer availble on tu4ar right now too.
Update 2: Got in touch with Capcom to find out what's up with the Xbox 360 demo. The early demo of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is exclusive to the PSN. There will be a demo for the Xbox 360 when the game is released this Summer.

You want the PS1 version of MvC? The one where you could only play as one character at a time and never switch to a second one? I'd much rather have the arcade version be a PSN download, personally.
I'm really excited to be getting an online version of this. Day-one download for me.
Wow, I hate to say this but this is their golden chance to add some fucking balance to this miserably unbalanced asset dump who's rivals in "unbalanced pieces of crap who;s sole goal is to throw enough shit at retards so that they won't notice" subgenre of fighting games includes Fighters Megamix, MKA, and Neo Geo Battle Colloseum.
I mean seeing the franchise return is great and all but about time for some honesty. Marvel Vs. Capcom (the original with Onslaught) was 10x's the game of this pigeon turd.
Some new characters added in would be awesome, Viewtiful Joe please? Also, this'll cost 15 bucks, but I'd pay 20 just for the character select menu music, gonna take you for a ride.
I watch this trailer, and all I see is how consciously the character gameplay in the trailer is pimping out TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS.
We basically see Wolverine and Ryu fighting, and no one else. Hm. Ryu and Wolverine. I wonder if there is a recently released Street Fighter game on shleves, and a big expensive Wolverine movie coming to theatres.
We've been suckered, you guys. Again. When we buy MVC2, we're playing into what this release is; a marketing ploy for these products.
And the worst part is that I'll totally buy this game! I'm part of the problem!
Wait, so no news on online vs? hmmmmm, that's a drag. So this is like a mixture between a classic Xbox game upload and an updated Xbox Live game. Weird. First day purchase, however.
The Dreamcast version of MvC2 has always been the definitive console port, most accurately recreating the arcade's engine. It's hard to understand why anyone would want a xbox/PS2 version, and I'm guessing this re-release is going to be either one of those altered jobs.
I can't see any fighting game enthusiast actually wanting this version when the DC version has always been around and you can even mod the music and colors without needing to mod the console!
I'll stick with my Metal-mix version of MvC2 my roommate keeps in the living room.
And it's a no-brainer they'd showcase Ryu and Wolverine not only because of SF4/X-Men Origins, but they're also essentially the flagship characters of both franchises. =P
@HamalSharatan - Good point! The online feature is definitely something that makes it a worthwhile purchase. It's not something I'm interested in, but it's definitely a very important feature.

YES.
SCOOPZ HAGEN DAAZ
Otherwise, fap!
Sooooo gonna destroy my arcade stick with this game methinks.
The upscaling looks incredibly pretty.
I liked the TU4AR Remix too.
Could be too much to ask but any chance this goes on WiiWare too?
This shall be good times. Is it too much to hope forsome new content, a little bit?
OLD SKOOL!

I hope Capcom keep the soundtrack the same. It was unique enough that it doesn't need a remix.

Now, all the Used Xbox and PS2 copies of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 will plummet in price. SELL! SELL! SELL!

@Arttemis, does the Dreamcast version have online? No? Ok, then, I am choosing the PSN/XBLA port.
-Based on Dreamcast
-Everyone unlocked from the start
-Custom soundtracks/Sound and music volume sliders
-Other stuff
