Gearing up for the game's debut on XBLA this week, Capcom has just released some new screens and video from Marvel Vs Capcom 2. We've already seen Wolvie and Ryu going at it, followed by Storm Vs Jill, and now it's time for my favorite superhero, Spider-Man, to take on Strider.
This has always been one of my favorite portrayals of Spidey, because no matter what he's doing on screen, he always manages to look like a total badass, especially with the web action. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm pretty excited for an opportunity to fling gobs of my white goo at people again when the ... oh ... oh my, that didn't sound right at all. Oh well, too late.
Hit the jump for videos spotlighting both characters in action, with a bit of strategy regarding the strengths and weaknesses of each. There are some screenshots in the gallery below for dessert, and Jonathan Holmes and I will be bringing you a full review of the game very soon, so keep an eye out for that as well.
Magnalon has got it right. If you're bringing back a game like this, don't just do a simple port. It's probably still going to be as broken as before too.
Actually, you just reminded me I have to RE-unlock every character!!!! Grrrrr!!
Every minute (hour?) you're in training mode, you get a certain amount of points. Dreamcast users used to leave it on overnight so they could get the maximum amount of points allotted in order to buy more characters.
Talking about Spider-Man, after many years I picked up one of his comics the other days and I couldn't get what was going on. I was a huge fan and head EACH AND EVERY comic of his for a timeframe of around 10 years, from when I was 5 to 15. When I went to Wikipedia to find out how Pete's life was faring I died a little inside. Spider-Man became a soap opera. Anti-Venom. Really? And Mac Gargan is now Venom. REALLY? SCORPION IS NOW VENOM? AND HE ANSWERS TO NORMAN OSBORN IS THEIR SUPER pseudo-hero TEAM? Seriously, f*** off, Marvel. Besides, everyone had the memory of Peter and MJ being married erased from their minds. Way to go, Marvel. Deus Ex MAchina FTW.

I would have paid $60 cash for something that looked like the header artwork. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 with Blazblue graphics? I'd die.
And for $15 I'd but this game 3 times over.
Yes!

All characters are unlocked from the start, so you can just jump right in.
Really?! I completely missed that. Ah well, I'll boot the ol' DC up again and do it that way.
