Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC rises from the grave photo

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC that mysteriously disappeared for no good reason has now made a return.

The DLC pack features five playable characters -- Magneto, Black Panther, Carnage, Psylocke, and Cable -- along with new challenge missions. All of that for only 800 MS Points for Xbox 360 or $9.99 for PlayStation 3. ("Only"? Really?) You can also pick up Juggernaut as a playable character for 160 MS Points/$1.99.

The content is available right now on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and "coming soon" to the PlayStation Network. It'll be available until the end of the year, at which point it will vanish again. Activision says this content has returned due to "popular" demand, but I can't imagine there was much of an outcry for paid DLC for an eight-month-old game.

But hey, who am I to say? Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 is actually pretty good, and I supposed it could benefit from a playable Magneto. Anyone already pick up these characters and challenge missions? Worth the dough? Let us know!

I remember this DLC being, literally, the only way I can actually connect and play online. No wonder it's back by "popular demand". It's a little too late for me but....yeah.

Hey guys, did you hear about that limited time offer where we can pay for stuff that should have been given away for free?

Did I mention the limited time part? Act now!

Ha ha. No, this is much too late for me to possibly give a shit about. I was actually disappointed when they took it down before I got the chance to get it, but from the time they fucked around with the DLC until now I'd essentially forgotten I owned this game. Now I'm saving my money for other things, and will just have to dry my tears on some BB:Continuum Shift or BC2 DLC sometime in the future.

Omg so excited, can't control myself, got this game for Christmas and the DLC disappeared on the 23rd of December (for some), others the 31st. After months of being incredibly angry about this not being available...all I can say is OMG YES. If I had completely finished the game back in Jan/Feb like my plan was, this news would only make me more angry, but I held off in hopes it would come back.

These are good games, but I don't find them to have much of a lifespan. Once you've finished them, I can't see returning to them that often. Maybe that's just me.

I did like the game, but I've pretty much moved on. If they put all those characters together (including Juggernaut) as a single package and selling it for half as much, then I might be tempted to dive back in.

Those characters were already in the other versions of the game. Good ol Bobby Assdick to withold stuff for profit.

Actually there has been a fairly large outcry from the achievement/trophy whore community. It's probably some legal issue in reality, but it's not like no one wants this stuff back.

Eh. The game was just a boring arena brawler with a coat of Marvel paint. Shit story too after the mid point. Not sure how you make a game worse than the predecessor, but this is one way.

too bad the game itself was a POS. that's what happens when you farm out the sequel of a highly successful original to a third-rate developer. *shrug*

didn't MUA2 lack pretty badly compared to the original?

It didn't really lack much compared to the original (at least gameplay wise, the story was awful once they deviated from Civil War), it was just more of the same game we've been playing since X-Men Legends. Four games in it gets boring pretty quickly.

I played through XML, XML2, and MUA multiple times each. By the time I got to MUA2 I couldn't even be arsed to finish a second playthrough on the pro-reg side.

I remember playing this game through a couple times; played through once without the DLC then got the DLC and integrated some of the new characters in my playthrough. I <3 the hell out of these games I would gladly pay for more

people LIKED MUA2!? wow...that game is still garbage to me...so many nights testing that horrid game.

I wonder if they ever fixed the stuttering credits? I assume not.

Their dick tactic managed to get some free promotion though. Bet they get more sales this way than never removing it in the first place.

Not from me though, dickheads.

damn that's a lot of money for some characters. I think last I checked the game is going for like $30 new... I keep meaning to pick it up, but it's not real high on my list.

Yeah sorry about last December when i got the game i noticed the damn DLC gone and sold the game. They can suck a dick, not buying the game again to pay for what i could have paid for 7 months ago..

The completionist side of me was excited to hear that this came back, but the rational side of me balked at the price. 800 points?! Are you KIDDING me?! Go fuck yourself Bobby.

I love the MUA games and the XMen Legends Series.... I hope they continue to thrive, so we can see more games in the series, if it aint broke don't fix it. That said, I think this DLC will be too little too late.
