Don’t expect to hear much about the Marvel MMO. At least, don’t expect to hear much of substance until 2011 or 2012. MTV Splash Page recently interviewed Marvel’s president of worldwide consumer products, Simon Philips, who probably screwed up when he said the game was slated for release in 2012.
“It sounds like a long way away, but it’s not,” Philips said. “We’ve got to create, together with [game publisher] Gazillion, that environment that is going to be a totally immersive experience and a perpetual storytelling experience as well.”
Ah, immersion. I can’t wait to log in to the Marvel MMO and journey around a rich, comic book inspired universe. I’m imagining sitting on Captain America’s massive back, as he flies through the world and descends upon the jerks that dare threaten the sanctity of the people. That’s immersion, folks. Flying with Captain America.
Make it happen, Marvel. Give the man the wings he deserves.

Oh well. If Marvel can provide more to their MMO than Cryptics powerhouses, then consider me interested. For now, this is just a very small blip on the radar.
Even then, I think Geoff Johns is a better writer.
Still a Marvel MMO might be fun if done well.
