Marley, INXS, Slipknot and more confirmed for Rock Band 3 photo

Eurogamer has the details on 10 more tracks that will makes their way to the Rock Band 3 disc this October, and it's music from artists spanning the globe. Whether you're looking from music from Germany or Australia or Mexico, Harmonix and MTV have got you covered.

  • Bob Marley & The Wailers' Get Up, Stand Up
  • INXS' Need You Tonight
  • Poni Hoax' Antibodies
  • Rammstein's Du Hast
  • Roxette's The Look
  • Tokio Hotel's Humanoid
  • HIM's Killing Loneliness
  • Maná's Oye Mi Amor
  • Slipknot's Before I Forget
  • War's Low Rider

Rock Band 3 is out October 29. I've played it, and despite Harmonix trying to sabotage my enjoyment the game by including a Bob Marley track (the new song filtering options are a welcome addition), it's looking good.

INXS and Roxette are wonderful news. Bob Marley on Rock Band reminds me of this article.

Marley, Rammstein, HIM, War, looking good. I just really hope that dig at Marley was a joke that flew over my head.

@SurvivingFallout:
I appreciate the legacy of Marley, but I do not like his music. At all.

I should also throw out there that hearing "Low Rider" makes me want to swallow poison.

I'm just trying to make as many musical enemies as possible here. Look, I am NOT closed-minded when it comes to music. I've tried listening to it all, and my tastes are pretty wide; I think I'm a better person because of it. I LOVE music, maybe more than games.

But "Low Rider"? Come on. I'm not backing down on this one. That song is three minutes of War jamming on the same riff the entire time. There are also fewer than 20 lines of lyrics, and half of them are "take a little trip."

The funny thing is, I just started playing Brutal Legend last week and I think it's pretty great so far. Jack Black has never been better (and the game is pretty fun, too!).

Eh, I can agree with Nick. I like a bit of Marley, but not a whole lot, and I don't see it working that great in RB.

Though, truthfully, I'm not giving a damn about RB3's setlist. It's the fact there is going to be harmonies and keyboards that has me excited.

They just need to announce they are going to backwards implement harmonies/keyboards to previously released DLC, and I'll swear my loyalty to Harmonix forever.

cant say im the biggest fan of some of those bands but everyone has different tastes, so im glad they have so many different bands to cater to everyone, also RB could have all 83 lame on disc songs and i would still pick it up over RB. Hasn't weekly dlc taught us anything?

I can maybe understand not liking Marley (maybe) but Get up, Stand up? Thats just a plain great jam song. By the way I'm sort of now interested in what you listen to Nick?

You're right, it uis 3 minutes of them jamming to the same riff.

But it's still awesome!

I know you're not close minded when it comes to music Nick. Many-a music conversation has confirmed this. But I gotta disagree. I think Low Rider is a fun, albeit simplistic, little diddy.

I'm really glad to see Before I Forget again. The chart in Guitar Hero III was unnecessarily brutal.

I'm mostly looking forward to possibly retiring from expert guitar and switching to (hopefully) pro keys.

Nick is correct in both his Bob Marley jabs and Lowrider loathing. I hear that sng several times a day, and song filtering is confirmed to be the best feature with the revelation of that song.

@SurvivingFallout:

I'm not a fan of jam songs, so maybe that's it. I find "Get Up, Stand Up" to be a pretty boring song; it doesn't help that I've probably heard it 70,000 times. This morning I've listened to: Les Baxter's Ports of Pleasure, Fiona Apple's When The Pawn, etc., Fever Ray's record, MadLove's White With Foam, and some of the latest The Roots record.

@Xzyliac:

You're wrong! (Just kidding.)

Anyhow, there are like 4 bajillion songs playable in Rock Band at this point, I don't expect to like all of it. I'm glad they're getting new bands and music styles in there. But I'm also glad they're giving me the option to tell the game never to play "Get Up, Stand Up."

You mean that game that had Tool, Michael Jackson, Hendrix, Muse, System of a Down, Modest Mouse, Eagles, Van Halen, Steve Miller Band, Dream Theater, Metallca, and The Doors. Yeah, that setlist wasn't a crowd pleaser at all.

I mean the game was ass but you can't diss that setlist man. Regardless of whether you like the bands of not (Protip: I hate Tool) that setlist definitely was anything but a flop.

@Nick Chester
I heard that new Roots album was sweet. We've been playing the new Roots music video at work and it's good. I might pick it up this week now that you bring it up.

Yeah, I agree with Xzyliac that the World Tour setlist was pretty decent. I can stand Tool in small doses (it has its moments), but being forced be play three (or was it more?) Tool songs back-to-back was pretty painful.

Also, get the new Roots record. It's totally rad.

Tool is fine in very small doses. And then mostly for the drums. But really, its not. Or at least it was when I was 16 but now, yeah I'd take XTC over Tool any day.

Making Plans for Nigel FTW.

Why thank you. Don't mind if I do.

I love Tool, but I realized before World Tour that their music would not be fun in a music game. Most of the songs are built on repetition of short patterns.

I don't think you got my point. It had a few decent songs, for sure. But for every good song there were like three awful ones. What I'm trying to say is that it's spreading itself way too thin by trying to throw in a bunch of different genres and a lot of generally unknown anf foreign bands. Also, fuck Michael Jackson.
