If your dream of Mario and Sonic's ultimate confronatation was a snowboarding competition, then you have lucked out today, son! Sega has posted a new teaser trailer for
Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games on Youtube, and here it is. Aren't you excited? I've got a semi-on just thinking about it.
This game will sell millions upon millions of copies, while brooding cynics like myself complain about how Mario and Sonic should have been in a much more meaningful game that probably wouldn't have sold for sh*t. Something about that makes me feel comfortable.

Sonic 3's Ice Cap Zone had a snowboarding section; Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the best Sonic game made yet.
Sonic Adventure had one in its Ice Cap level; Sonic Adventure is arguably the best 3d Sonic game made
Sonic Adventure 2 had a psuedo snowboarding(er...streetboarding I guess) section in the first level; SA2, also arguably the best 3d Sonic game made
Sonic Triple Trouble(aka Sonic and Tails 2) had Sonic get a snowboard power-up in Robotnik Winter Zone; STT was one of the better Game Gear Sonics.
Sonic Rush Adventure had a whole act on a Snowboard for Blizzard Peaks; SRA was leagues better than Sonic Rush(save for a new annoying character).
Ok, so where was I going with this? Sonic + Snowboarding = win, so Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games will be win too for bringing back a snowboarding Sonic.
*Just to be an annoying cockwhiff.
My only suggestion: the original was not even close to being the worst offender. Many enjoyed it. Save the bile for the majority of its competitors, which really are wretched. Like last year's winter games collection. Whatever it was called.
In all seriousness, I give Sega a free pass. If selling millions of copies of this gives them the financial security to take the occasional risk on a title I might like better...hey, eveyone wins.

Sonic being in Brawl was pretty epic... Should have been Mega Man instead, dammit.
