Niero, speaking of which, a girl I know manages a band and made a decent and scarily accurate assumption of her band. Guitar players play the way they masturbate. Watch how they do their thing on the frets and fingering, and you get way too much information on how they do things downstairs. Hush, while I do worry about the long term prospects about mini-game-itis on the Wii, this is what Mario Party is. Minigames. It's what Super Monkey Ball and Wario Ware are known for. Blame the success of those titles on the GC/GBA for the rampant minigame fever that's on the Wii. I think there's more than enough titles on the other end though to think that it's overly cautious to state that it's nothing but minigames. We've got two FPS (though really shitty ones), driving games, an RPG, a few platformers, and a bunch of sports titles.
What we don't have that I think would be a good system seller for the non-gamer are more exploration titles. Elebits is about as close as it comes since you have to tear apart enviroments to find your goals. But think about how well a Maniac Mansion or Full Throttle type game would do on this platform... Yeah.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm all for mario party if that's your cup of tea. All I'm saying is that if you look at what games are selling well on the wii, what games are more anticipated, it's one big minigame disco party. I've got no problem with minigames, though I'm no fan of them personally. It's just too much of one flavor all at once, I think it makes it harder to take the system more seriously because there aren't many worthwhile titles on the shelf to appeal to anyone other than casual gamers. (which was probably nintendo's whole point all along, but I'd juts like to see some more love for the rest of us.)
This will totally turn upside down my Mario Party dominance over my roommates. I am the undisputed champion of tapping the A button really quickly, but now they're gonna have us jerk off the controller really fast? Oh, I guess I'm the best at that too...
