I've been having a pretty crap day up until "Steve" came along (thanks to our beloved Aaron Linde). I'm behind schedule, stressed out, and getting nowhere with work today. But then this probably intoxicated Japanese man narrated his playthrough of Game Boy classic Mario Land on Japanese video site Nico Nico Douga, which has since become a hit on YouTube.
His choppy English over the three stages of Mario Land are so funny that I ended up crying from laughing. He has a lot to say, and not all of it makes sense. He gets quite passionate about "bad monsters" that he somehow ties to breaking windows in a house. My favorite part is where an ill-timed jump ruins the payout of a coin box.
"One coin? Facke you," he says.
I'm always constantly reworking my list of the top ten people I'd love to hang out with. "Steve" now ranks very high.

This kind of reminds me of the customers who call in at work who don't speak good English then get pissed because because I can't understan their poor English.
When he got the flower it took me about 10 seconds to realise he was saying "weapons" because it sounded like he was saying "red ball" to me, either way, gotta love the video!
I am going to go ahead and be an ass and say that this guy is completely fake, he's not Japanese or maybe even Asian, I could practice for an afternoon and pull out a more believable outrageous accent than this dude; but hey, I might be wrong and the dude's from the heart of Kyoto.
Looking forward to this demo. I hated the first but this looks like such a drastic improvement that I can't help but be excited by the documentaries and trailers, and this will help me know for sure if my faith and good will has been worth it.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

"OH YEAH! WOOO! My luck is very good. Oh lucky man, I'm lucky man. WOO! But........... my life is not lucky. Umm... fuck you."
You mean this? Yeah that's funny too.
No. This Super Mario Land vid.
The moment I hit play I realized the same thing. I definitely think this was posted here before.
