Wow that's way sooner then expected. So I guess this leaves the fall opened up for the new Zelda release after all. This is going to be one heck of a Spring/Summer for Wii owners. May is Mario, June is Sin & Punisment, July will probably be that Fling Smash WM+ game, and August is probably Metroid Other M. That's four big games from Nintendo all in row over the summer!

ok for real now: i wonder if this means they have something bigger on tap for the holiday, or if they expect this to have the usual nintendo legs and in turn, it doesn't matter when they release it because it will continue to sell anyway(possibly picking up steam through word of mouth)

I never believed any of the rumours for a second that it would hit during the middle of the year, given Nintendo's track record. A release only three months after announcement almost seems unbelievable to me!

So they're putting out Mario, and Metroid within a month of each other basically and squeeze S&P2 in the middle of it. I think Nintendo just got real, you all want your core Nintendo games? seriously, i don't care if you're a rabid ps3 or 360 owner, you can't knock mario. He's an icon, and a legacy, and mario galaxy was an amazing game. I'm a proud ps3 owner, and recently got a wii so all I can say is fuck yes!

Awesome great to hear. hopefully they played around with the gameplay cause the first one got boring after like an hour of solid waggling.

That seems really abrupt after a period of nothing. Regardless, this should be another classic game, even if it's the first "true" Mario sequel.

U R MR GAY 2... this would be DLC on any other console so i'm not sure how good it will be but it does seem to have a lot of new stuff like Yoshi and new powerups so it should be pretty good.

Why is everyone picking on Birthmarkdestructor for liking Halo 1 and GTA: SA? I'm confused. Those games are often heralded and regarded by many to be the best in their genres (console FPS and open world, respectively).

Just because he's not excited by a new Nintendo game that will likely not prove to be that much different from it's predecessor doesn't mean he's incapable of enjoying quality titles. Clearly he does just that, just not cartoon platformers.

And guess what, people, THAT'S OKAY! Not everyone has the same tastes in... well... anything. Get over yourselves.

I, for one, thought Super Mario Galaxy was boring and trite. Just because Mario ran around on spherical worlds, which Ratchet and Clank had been doing since the PS2 days, and they threw in some horribly controlled new suits for him to wear (fuck you spring, fuck you) doesn't make it a great title. And don't even get me started on the lack of a story. I tell ya, only Nintendo could release a major title these days with a complete lack of a story and have it be heralded as the best in the platforming genre.

But guess what, I don't care if you agree with me nor do I think you should. You're allowed to enjoy the games you play as I am allowed to enjoy mine. To each his own. Move on with your lives.

Is this one going to at least pretend to be challenging? The first Mario Galaxy was so pathetically easy that it makes Sunshine look punishing.
