Marilyn Manson coming to Guitar Hero III in downloadable form

     Guitar Hero

He might be a ludicrously absurd clown who spends his time sniffing around child-like young ladies, but I must confess I'm somewhat partial to a bit of the ol' Marilyn Manson now and again. The circus freak of croaky rock will be making his skeletal way to Guitar Hero III as part of the next downloadable song pack that hits August 7th.

The pack will feature Manson's Putting Holes In Happiness as remixed by Nick Zinner, along with Flyleaf's Tina and AFI's Circinogen Crush. This pack was originally given to purchasers of the Guitar Hero III soundtrack (a soundtrack of a soundtrack -- classy), but will now be available to XBL and PSN users on Thursday.

Shame that there's not more Manson, really. I might have finally bought some GH III DLC if it'd been a full-on Manson pack. Ah well, maybe one day Guitar Hero will have songs I actually like on there -- seriously, we're due an Electric Light Orchestra song by now.

ACTIVISION SET TO RELEASE TRACK PACK FOR GUITAR HERO® III: LEGENDS OF ROCK FEATURING DISTINGUISHED ARTISTS FROM INTERSCOPE RECORDS

SANTA MONICA, CA – August 5, 2008 – The distinctive chords of three hit artists from Interscope Records will soon take the stage in Activision Publishing, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVID) Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock. The three-song Intercope Track Pack will let gamers further expand and customize their Guitar Hero playlists and experience a variety of new tunes on August 7.

The pack will include the heavy lyrics of Flyleaf’s "Tina," the heartfelt track "Carcinogen Crush" from hardcore-punk turned goth band, AFI, as well as a remix of Marilyn Manson’s grinding, fast-paced "Putting Holes In Happiness" by Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The Interscope Track Pack, originally offered to purchasers of the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock soundtrack CD, will be available on August 7 for download on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®Store for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

Every time I need to reassure myself that there is no such thing as a just God, I remember that that guy has been inside Rose McGowan.

Marilyn Manson was nothing without Trent Reznor. FACT. And surprise, nobody really gives much of a damn about him now. His music is incredibly average.

The celebrity side of music has never concerned me. I couldn't give less of a fuck about what the people behind the music look like or act like. That being said, Marilyn Manson has put out a lot of great music.

Good thing that they're stopping this real-life CD exclusive track bullshit.

I had these songs back when my friend stole the album and gave me the code. Good times.
The Manson song was pretty damn hard... the guitar parts are crazy.

Would it be such a shame to put in something from Holywood? God damn, I loved that and Mechanical Animals. Everything after has sucked. A lot.

I love Manson.

Putting Holes in Happiness is a great song as well but I don't know what the Nick Zinner remix is like.

He's had a few good songs and that is not one that springs to mind. That being said, I'd rather buy the "guitar virtuoso" pack again just on principal than pay for this one.

Activision obviously doesn't know there modern music. AFI is emo not goth. As for Marilyn Manson, never heard any of his songs but I think he looks almost creepier than Micheal Jackson and I say almost because while I'm pretty sure Marilyn Mansons look is just a bunch of fancy makeup that he probably takes of unless he wants to be in the spotlight, Michael Jacksons is a permanent part of his body. *shudders*

Would have been good to see Coma White, The Fight Song and other songs by Manson that you could actually play well in Guitar Hero.

Fuck I hate Guitar Hero's DLC content. So average and shit. Won't be getting Rock Band (STILL isn't here in Australia) but will definitely get Rock Band 2 imported from the UK.

Actually... I don't even know if I want that. But yeah fuck Rock Band, fuck Guitar Hero.

Christ. Anything up to Mechanical Animals would have been great. Reflecting God please? Actually, give me all of Antichrist Superstar and I'll pee myself.
