Marching bands have done videogame covers in the past, but it looks like Ohio State has just raised the bar in how to perform a truly great gaming themed performance. The band began with Space Invaders, followed it up with Pokemon, and hit other games such as Mario, Halo, and more.
The Zelda portion was quite astounding, especially with how well the band moved while performing the song.
Three cheers to these guys. Too bad the Huskers lost this game though. I'm actually kinda jealous that my parents were at this game and got to see this extraordinary halftime show. Watching the Huskers lose after this must've been a major buzzkill.
They knocked that right out of the park. Or, uh, ran a perfectly executed naked bootleg option for a touchdown, as it were. Whatever the analogy, that was impressive. It'll make me feel bad for easily the next 10 minutes about the times I'd sit above the band section in college and call them nerds.
Western Michigan University's Marching Band did a videogame show two weeks ago with FFVIII, Medal of Honor, and Call of Duty. Freaking Big Ten Teams get all the breaks and publicity, I swear.

Musician Sarah Schachner did a little arrangement where she covered the Halo, Modern Warfare 2, and Skyrim themes back-to-back. The covers sound wonderful, and it's all even more impressive once you see that Sarah played every instrument herself.
