GREATEST TROLL OF ALL TIME! Capcom are assole Gods! Hilarious!
But man am I curious what they will do with Mega Man next. In a way I feel the way they are treating the character is actually respectful to Keiji Inafune. It's almost as if they're saying that they shouldn't be making real Mega Man games without Inafune having a part.
Of course that seems rather unlikely, doesn't it?
I don't think you understand how promotional exclusives work. Capcom did not pay Sony to put Cole in the game, get real. Sony dumped cash on Capcom for the exclusives.
If they couldn't reach a deal w/ Microsoft, it would because either MS didn't make a serious offer because they don't see getting an exclusive character in SFxT as a good investment, or they wanted too much input on how the character would work - stupid image stuff (from the same people who won't let avatars have weapons).
Could also be that MS has no characters appropriate for a fighting game. The wouldn't put Halo-man in it because the brand is too important to them, and Gears of War characters would make bad fighting game characters outside of Mortal Kombat. Who else?
You'll got a ways to go, but I'm sure you'll get there someday.
@ Everyone saying this is trolling- Wait a minute! Remember the Mega Man 9 box art? Was that trolling too? That's not how I remember it!
At the time, everyone said that "bad Mega Man 9 box art" was both a hilarious and humble self mockery by Capcom, and a tribute to old fans who remember how their box art used to be. That led to the "bad" Mega Man 10 box art, which people also liked. That led to the inclusion of Bad Box Art Mega Man in Mega Man Universe, which people reportedly liked even more.
Now Capcom's doing the exact same thing that people loved in the Mega Man 9/10 box art and Bad Box Art Mega Man in Mega Man Universe, and it's suddenly become "a slap in the face"? Now it's "trolling"?
How does that make any sort of sense?
If you are so angry at a multi-million dollar corporation because the money-men at the company canceled some games you wanted to play that you can't appreciate something like Bad Box Art Mega Man making a return in this game, then I feel sorry for you.
I hope you learn to let go of your worthless anger, and understand that Capcom doesn't think like you do. They do not hold grudges. They are not trying to make you angry. They are not "trolling" you. Trolling you would be worthless to them. What they value is your money. They want you to buy their games, and making you angry is not going to help do that. Again, they don't think like you. They are not angry at you. They just want you to like them so they can stay in business.
It's totally fair to say that you think that including this version of Mega Man in SFxT was a bad idea, that Capcom misread their audience and that this version of Mega man is not going to go over well. But to think that Capcom did this on purpose to make fans mad, and therefore cause their own game to sell fewer copies, is just plain dumb.
If it's on ps vita, i will take it ! Does all exclusive are on both? Or some tricky sh*t is there?
( like having both game for unlock it :S.. )
As you should be, any kind of journalism can be easily corrupted, it's usually all just on how much of a price the person is willing to pay. IGN goes that way, and I believe Destructoid does at times too with a few interesting reviews that dropped my jaw. At the same time I like Destructoid a lot more then other sites due to the fact the news is being given at a faster pace, I feel like the pay off rate is a lot less, and believe it or not the journalists on here, I like them more, though it took me a good long while to like Jim, but now I actually look forward to his articles as well.
p.s.: here's Pac Man's creepy-ass bio: "A living being whose origin and motive are wrapped in mystery. It is an omnivorous life form that consumes anything in its path. No matter what happens, its smile never leaves its face. It is not known what it is thinking or what its motives are, but it is certainly heading towards the box."... *shudder
How about you shut the fuck up and stop being such a stuck-up Xbox 360 fanboy? Just be happy that you're actually able to play the game. Also, fighting games sell more on the PS3, but there's a bigger community on the 360? Even of that was true, there's still a big fighting game community on PSN. Just because you (at least from what I assume) play more on your Xbox doesn't mean that everyone is playing on Live.
Also, different game but same problem: COD's DLC just recently released and the PS3 and PC owners have to wait for a month, even if they have Elite. Is that fair to us PS3 users and PC users that even though we paid $50 for Elite? No, no it's not, you donkey licker.
Ono has been saying how he has wanted to cross over more universes then two in a game for a long time, looks like he sort of got his wish. Here is to still hoping for a MvCvDC someday...
I agree with you, to a point. CoD fans have to wait an entire month for DLC, and that certainly sucks for them, but they still get the content. This isn't the same thing. 360 users aren't getting ANY extras, and since it's the only console I own, that really sucks. I'm in no way trying to be a fanboy, I'd just like an explanation as to why we don't get either of those characters.
This isn't trolling, it's Capcom sending a message that they've had it up to here with all the arguments over it. They just want to get back to basics but the fans don't want them to, so now Capcom is forcing this suboptimal version down their throats as an ultimatum.
Mega Man fans (and I must say I've been one as long as I can remember) need to stop taking everything as an insult. Yes Mega Man has had a really bad year, but he's not dead. It makes no sense for a company to do something simply to insult their fans so instead of looking at every little Mega Man thing they do as a middle finger to the fans, try looking at it in the way they intended: a tribute to a character they still care about but are unable to fully support at this time.
1. There isn't much overlap between Mega Man fans and fighting game fans, so the loss won't affect sales much.
2. The hardcore gaming community has proven time and time again that declarations of dissociation with Capcom never stick, so an afterthought like this will mean absolutely nothing to their bottom line.

However I might actually get this game now. You're right Holmes, Mega Man and Poison are hard to resist!
And as bummed as I still am about Mega Man Legends 3, observing Capcom cancel every MM game this year and then put THIS version in SFxT is pretty funny.
What more can I say, comedy and tragedy go together like pb&j!
If you are gonna be upset at anyone be upset at Microsoft. Capcom wanted to put Master Chief and Marcus Phoenix in the game but they couldn't come to a deal in time with Microsoft so those plans were scrapped.

But its trolling in that way that people with a sense of humor will appreciate it but fans too passionate to think straight will take grand offense to it.
And we all get to laugh at those fans because they're pretty much like Sonic's fans now.
An animated series about him would be awesome !
In my opinion, this is what they think of Mega Man, a fucking joke. With the way Capcom's been treating Mega Man, he deserves better than a fucking joke character, who only looks like Mega Man because of the outfit he wears is relative to the old US box art. There's nothing there, so much as I've seen you could give a fat guy a gun, sans the costume, and it would work just the same.
It's one thing to pay homage to the silliness that was that cover the way they were planning on doing it with Mega Man Universe; you got every version of Mega Man including the joke one. But when development time is put into a joke character model of Mega Man, in spite of all the incarnations of Mega Man that exist, including fighting game varieties ala MvC 1&2 and TvC...there's no fucking excuse.
Capcom had a way of making EVERYONE happy with a true Mega Man in a fighting game, like everyone requested. Instead, they made him a joke and only pleased some of the crowd, whilst everyone else is in disgust. Once again, I'm decidedly avoiding purchasing a game due to the idiotic practices Capcom has performed. Whoever thought of this as a good idea deserves a swift kick in the paycheck.
I mean, who cleared this? Who thought this wouldn't make people mad? I know Holmes is "very happy," but would Holmes have been just as happy if that were X in the game? Are there legal issues going on within Capcom about the Mega Man character design? They give Frank West an X costume, Zero gets an X skin, but there's no true Mega Man character there. Did they want an OG voice actor to do the part, and he refuses to do it, so this is a replacement? Is there a vendetta against Inafune, and this is meant to poke some fun at his creation?
It boggles my mind, how far they're willing to go to put a serious Mega Man character in something, new game or cameo as in these fighting games.
But whatever. I can live without Cole, Bad Art Mega Man and Pac-Man just like I can live without having to get Jill and Shuma-Gorath in Marvel vs Capcom 3 or anyone from the latest Mortal Kombat.
My arcade sticks are PC/360 so I would have been getting either version. Was burnt out on fighters but the gems and cluster-fuck mode really had me interested in this leading up to release.
Then Capcom has to remind me that they're the new modern Capcom who seem to screw up everything they touch in at least one way. All interest in it = killed.
Also, the rage towards the "wrong" Mega Man being in this game makes me wonder if people will buy the 360 version out of pure spite.
HA HA HA HA HA HA Suffered? Try being a Seiken Densetsu fan for the past 5-10 years. Sword of Mana, Dawn of Mana, Children of Mana and Heroes of Mana. And that's not even the worst series history of being shit on by the company that makes the games. You people got Megaman 9 and 10, which were at worst good Megaman games.
That's one more fighting game that I'll likely never play over Xbox Live now.
I probably would have gotten around to this game eventually for the chance to play as Poison rather than pummeling her into a pulp and a bear in a R.Mika costume but BBAMM and Pac-Man pretty much shift the priority for this game to Day One purchase barring any financial emergencies or the world coming to an end prior to December 21.
It's like, they already had great source material, and they just took a dump all over it.
